Historia
There's no place like home for the holidays ... especially for Lesley Carver. Life in the big city just wasn't her jam and now she's back in Hickory Falls, working at the family diner and helping her mom after she took a tumble. Lesley longs to build a life here, working at the cafe, selling her handmade ornaments and ... er, apparently reviving her high school crush on her best friend’s older brother. Only one problem, her mom wants her to leave Hickory Falls far behind.

So much grace
Revisado: 03-17-25
I love how the story explores ways that people who love each other can hold each other accountable, give heartfelt apologies, and offer one another true forgiveness. It's a lovely story that features emotionally intelligent and spiritually mature characters.

I will give the author the benefit of the doubt and will read the hard copy eventually. I can't listen to the male narrator.
Revisado: 06-23-24
The male narrator's voice is robotic and monotonous, I couldn't get beyond the second chapter.

A feelgood Christmas love story set in a gorgeous country village, perfect for fans of Milly Johnson and Heidi Swain. Previously published as "A Way Back Home". After recent heartbreak, Skye Jackson is homeless and on the road with only a classic Airstream trailer to her name. A surprise inheritance of a rundown little lodge in the grounds of beautiful Willow Tree Hall forces her to change her plans. The only problem is that the lodge is co-owned by care-free playboy Will Harris, currently in hiding after a recent tabloid scandal.

Sweet story with continuing character development from books one and two.
Revisado: 05-15-24
I have enjoyed each of the first three books in the series and look forward to the fourth. The characterization of Annie's voice is annoyingly distracting. I don't imagine her sounding so weak and airheaded.

Who allowed that narration to remain?
Revisado: 12-27-23
The stories are sweet. Nice escape literature. The narration of that second story however is about the worst I've heard. Terrible accents and basic pronunciations. Hey production team! Your authors deserve better! In fact, so does your narrator. Why would you release this as is?

Historia
In 2017, President Obama, in his final Oval Office interview, was asked who gave him hope for the future of the country, and Jason Kander was the first name he mentioned. Suddenly, Jason was a national figure. As observers assumed he was preparing a run for the presidency, Jason announced a bid for mayor of Kansas City instead and was headed for a landslide victory. But after eleven years battling PTSD from his service in Afghanistan, Jason was seized by depression and suicidal thoughts. He dropped out of the mayor’s race and out of public life. And finally, he sought help.

Historia
The occasion was a big birthday. And it inspired two close friends to get together in Dharamsala for a talk about something very important to them. The friends were His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. The subject was joy. Both winners of the Nobel Prize, both great spiritual masters and moral leaders of our time, they are also known for being among the most infectiously happy people on the planet.

Calling all humans
Revisado: 08-06-22
As one of the seven billion people of this world, this book is a gift for YOU. It invites humankind to honor our commonality, celebrate our diversity, and live beyond those things that separate us from one another and from Creator. Religion is not a prerequisite for reading The Book of Joy.

Much of the world met Bishop Curry when he delivered his sermon on the redemptive power of love at the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at Windsor Castle. Here, he expands on his message of hope in an inspirational road map for living the way of love, illuminated with moving lessons from his own life. Through the prism of his faith, ancestry, and personal journey, Love Is the Way shows us how America came this far and, more important, how to go a whole lot further.

Theologically rich yet down to earth and practical, Garden City speaks to all of us who are searching for our calling in life or just trying to find meaning in the everyday. In the end this audiobook is an invitation to ask the ancient, primal, human question: Why am I here, and what should I do about it?

Revisado: 08-12-20
I like that the author narrates. His personality comes through well enough in his writing, but especially in his narration. It's like sitting in a coffee shop with a wise friend who loves to talk about his faith and his place and purpose as a child of God.
