Historia
Photographer Isla Wilson is thrilled she's landed her dream job, but the clients who hired her are getting stranger by the day. It sounded so perfect—a month's assignment at the lush Scottish Highlands property of architect Alban McGregor, and his wife, Jessica. But in the woods, there's a playhouse with a chilling history. Two years ago, the McGregors' daughter Elodie was abducted and then died in that playhouse. The townspeople insist her abductor had to be a stranger in their town. Alban refuses to knock the playhouse down, even keeping a picture of it on his wall.

Bad audio
Revisado: 04-12-25
This audiobook was pretty boring! There were some parts that caught my attention, but overall it didn’t get exciting. The changes in voice when someone was on the phone were really hard to listen to. It felt silly and didn’t add anything important. The ending was weak, and I was really let down.

Boring
Revisado: 09-17-24
I found the experience quite disappointing. The storyline lacked originality, and I quickly deduced the identity of the character in question. The narrative was challenging to follow due to its repetitive structure, which contributed to an overall feeling of monotony. The author's approach often led to expectations of significant developments that ultimately did not materialize, reminiscent of a horror film where the suspense builds only to reveal a benign source, like a cat. Additionally, the conclusion of the book left much to be desired. I'm surprised by the high ratings it has received on Goodreads. On the positive side, I appreciate that it was available for free on Audible.

Overall a good book
Revisado: 08-16-24
I frequently encountered this book on my recommendations page, and upon reviewing the feedback, I found the opinions to be mixed. Typically, my reading preferences lean towards crime novels. Recently, I completed the entire Bridgerton series as a favor for my daughter, and I noticed that this series was available for free on Audible. While I have only read a couple of books dealing with humans and fairies, I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this one.
There were a few chapters where I felt a bit impatient, and the beginning took some time to engage me. However, once the story gained momentum, I appreciated it more. I was also pleasantly surprised by several plot twists. I look forward to reading the next installment.

The perfect neighborhood can be the perfect place to hide… Who wouldn’t want to live in Brighton Hills? This exclusive community on the Oregon coast is the perfect mix of luxury and natural beauty. Stunning houses nestle beneath mighty Douglas firs, and lush backyards roll down to the lakefront. It’s the kind of place where neighbors look out for one another. Sometimes a little too closely…

Hated this story and the narrator
Revisado: 04-01-24
Boring and the narrator too loud. She was screaming most of the time. Plus her voice was so annoying. I would return this book if it wasn't a gift.

Trauma victims are not new to medical examiner Faith McIntyre, but this one is different. The unconscious woman clinging to life after a hit and run is FBI agent Macy Crow. What the woman from Quantico was doing in a dark alley after midnight is just one mystery. The other is more unsettling: Macy is Faith’s mirror image—the twin sister she never knew she had.

Good story
Revisado: 08-02-23
Way better than the second one.
I was so disappointed when the second book was so bad, I love finding long series, but then there were new characters. In the book old and new intertwined.
A good story about twin sisters who don't know about each other. The story was good and the mystery not obvious.

What happened?
Revisado: 07-26-23
I am not sure how this one was so bad compared to the first book. I was disappointed to find out it was a new cast. The style of this book was confusing and dull. Most of the time I didn't know whose point of view I was reading. And unlike the other book, the sex scene in this seemed out of place. Disappointed

Waste!
Revisado: 09-30-22
What a waste of time!
Spoiler:
If you are someone who likes an ending, skip this book. The while freaking time we have to put up with obnoxious teen who won't tell anyone who she is. The book ends and we still don't find out. She goes through this horrible event where she almost gets burned to death, bonds with her foster parent and still doesn't tell him who she is! *EYE ROLL*
There is another story within this story but that one also was dull. Note to self, don't read anything from this author.
It's a no for me Dogg.

Could have been so beautiful....
Revisado: 08-10-22
*Spoilers*
I was having fun reading this book at first. It was creepy enough to get me a little spooked. But that quickly faded into a dull super wordy mess. I found myself irritated and just wanting to tell Beatrice to get to the freaking point!
A young woman who lost everything, in her opinion, marries a man whom she thinks will help her get a home for her and her mother. Her mother, upset by her choice, stays behind leaving the young new bride to go meet her new sister in law and the hacienda she will have to call home.
The house feels eerie, the servers act weird, Juana won't sleep in the home and Rodolfo leaves her soon alone. Beatrice doesn't mind at first, busying herself with fixing the gardens. But soon she realizes the home means her harm.
This leads into a priest/witch coming to help. A will they won't they, they don't, and a whole lot of pointless blab. I felt like the author had an assignment and it had to be so many words to be completed. Pass on this one.
