Historia
In 2012, on his third tour of duty in Afghanistan, an improvised explosive device left Dan Crenshaw's right eye destroyed and his left blinded. Only through the careful hand of his surgeons, and what doctors called a miracle, did Crenshaw's left eye recover partial vision. And yet, he persevered, completing two more deployments. Why? There are certain stories we tell ourselves about the hardships we face—we can become paralyzed by adversity or we can adapt and overcome. We can be fragile or we can find our fortitude. Crenshaw delivers a set of lessons to help you do just that.

not too many over the top stories about BUDS training. Love your perspective. Not overbearing is very reasonable. Good luck in the future

a waste of time...

It is rare that I give a book a poor review. However, this book deserves it. nothing new, different, or exciting that has not already been written about before and a much better fashion. A weak ass effort. I feel like the authors we're just looking for a pay day of some sort. I've lost time, money, and respect for Don Mann.

Historia
The unforgiving Afghan winter settled upon the 22 men of Marine Special Operations Team 8222, call sign Dagger 22, in the remote and hostile river valley of Bala Murghab, Afghanistan. The Taliban fighters in the region would have liked nothing more than to once again go dormant and rest until the new spring fighting season began. No chance of that - this winter would be different.

don't quite understand the 4.0 plus rating on this book. It's an okay story and I'm glad the author got to tell his Triumph and his frustrations. However, I've read countless War novels and this would rank in the lower half

Historia
Imagine a chimpanzee rampaging through a data center powering everything from Google to Facebook. Infrastructure engineers use a software version of this "chaos monkey" to test online services' robustness - their ability to survive random failure and correct mistakes before they actually occur. Tech entrepreneurs are society's chaos monkeys, disruptors testing and transforming every aspect of our lives from transportation (Uber) and lodging (AirBnB) to television (Netflix) and dating (Tinder).

I spent several years in SV and participated in the start-up madness. I think most everything the author said is true to some degree. However, in my time with 2 separate companies, I was surrounded by the most talented, hard working folks I had ever met. If you want to start a tech company (or otherwise any co.), I think this is a must read.

Historia
In 1996, Allan Weisbecker sold his home and his possessions, loaded his dog and surfboards into his truck, and set off in search of his longtime friend and surfing companion, Christopher, who had vanished into the depths of Central America. In this rollicking memoir of his quest from Mexico to Costa Rica to unravel the circumstances of Christopher's disappearance, Weisbecker intimately describes the people he befriended, the bandits he evaded, and the waves he caught and lost en route to finding his friend.

The Lonesome Dove of Florida
Revisado: 01-14-13
Where does A Land Remembered rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
As a Florida resident, this was a wonderfully enchanting book. For better or worse it will give you a adventuresome new perspective of Florida and its history.

The mosquito hatch and the attacks on the herd.
Have you listened to any of George Guidall’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Not that I am aware of.
Who was the most memorable character of A Land Remembered and why?
All the men, but Tobias MacIvey set the tone for the entire family and their desire to be anchored to the land.
