Great book and reader did well too. Makes me want more information on other wars to see what I didn't know about them, especially the smaller wars in 1800s.

I really liked the way the author writes, very informative but not in a dull historical way. Was hard to put down my MP3 player at times. Well done. Gives a great look at a region in the world the west has had so much trouble in.

This book gives you a cooking and chemical lesson in a very fun way. I did not realize the many different items, nice way of putting it, that goes into our food. Also shows another vulnerability that we have with China, certain of the above mentioned items only come from China. Very informative but very interesting at the same time. Even Teen-Agers found it interesting.

Must Read for understanding of the Balkans

I have read several books on the Balkans but none caught my attention as much as this one did. I just really think that the author did a great job in describing historical facts in an interesting way. Really was hard to shut this book off. Made me wish I had an Atlas with me at all times. Hopefully policy makers listen or read these books to get a sound history on areas that have become hotspots.
