Outstanding narration!

I chose this collection because of all the comments on the narrator, and I'm glad I did. It's superb! The narrator creates any number of different character voices which each sound unique. He deserves a standing ovation.
There are glitches in the recordings: repeated sections and some skips. But I've listened to several versions of Oz and this one, despite the technical issues, is far and away the best.

The narrator is amazing!

This book is a classic for a reason, although very much of its time. This audiobook is one of the few I recommend as better than reading the physical book, and it's all because of the narrator. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

The narrator makes or breaks the book. Anton Lesser is close to perfection. I've read this book dozens of times and I teared up listening to Sydney Carton's last speech.

And an excellent performance by an excellent narrator. Prebble never gets in the way of the story. He brings the characters into vivid life. I can't recommend this audiobook highly enough.

The narrator makes the book

Full disclosure: 1. I'm a rabid Keene fan. 2. I have never watched an episode of Survivor.
Keene does not disappoint with Castaways: he creates a group of completely believable characters and puts them through hell. When the action gets going, it's like rolling uncontrollably down a hill picking up speed at every turn. He threw in a couple of fun twists and red herrings as well.
Williamson's narration is a very good fit for the book. He differentiates the characters well and pulls the listener along with the action so well it engulfs the listener.
Recommended.
One spoiler that is also a caveat: The book has graphic rape descriptions. I skipped them and thus little bit of the story before and after them.
