Historia
Since the 1970s, FantasticLand has been the theme park where "Fun is Guaranteed!" But when a hurricane ravages the Florida coast and isolates the park, the employees find it anything but fun. Five weeks later, the authorities who rescue the survivors encounter a scene of horror. Photos soon emerge online of heads on spikes outside of rides and viscera and human bones littering the gift shops, breaking records for hits, views, likes, clicks, and shares.

Imagine Lord of the Flies in Disneyland directed by Takashi Miike. Five stars. Or five severed heads on a stick.

Historia
When horror writer Nick Steen gets sucked into a cursed typewriter by the terrifying Type-Face, Dark Lord of the Prolix, the hellish visions inside his head are unleashed for real. Forced to fight his escaping imagination - now leaking out of his own brain - Nick must defend the town of Stalkford from his own fictional horrors, including avascular-necrosis-obsessed serial killer Nelson Strain and Nick's dreaded throppleganger, the Dark Third.

A masterpiece but too dangerous to exist.
Revisado: 12-10-22
Garth Marenghi is a genius but this cannot, in good conscience, be recommended. Marenghi is an Origamist of the Mind, folding your psyche in to a one of those paper fortune teller things like you had in school. Then he’ll thrust his fingers in and splay open your cerebrum, whispering ‘Knicky knacky knocky noo, which madness do you choose?’

Historia
Ramble Book is about parenthood, boarding-school trauma, arguing with your partner, bad parties, confrontations on trains, friendship, wanting to fit in, growing up in the '80s, dead dads, teenage sexual anxiety, failed artistic endeavours, being a David Bowie fan and how everything you read, watch and listen to as a child forms a part of the adult you become. It’s also an audiobook about the joys of going off topic and letting your mind wander. And it’s about a short, hairy, frequently confused man called Adam Buxton.

Loses one star for dismissing the music of Tin Machine
Revisado: 08-20-20
Less an autobiography, more like spending a pleasant day with Mr Buxton. Warm, charming, funny and tender. Strikes a nostalgic chord with all those of our generation who experienced the thrill of setting up an Atari 2600 or scared ourselves half to death in a darkened room trying to watch Alien on TV.

Thoughtful and fascinating.
Revisado: 10-23-19
For anyone interested in the mechanics of comedy, Robin Ince explores the neurological and psychological makeup of humour with his usual charm and wit. But if you can’t be bothered then it can all be distilled down to this one perfect lesson: Never reveal the cardigan too early.
