Historia
Our Miss Brooks was a hit on radio from the outset; within eight months of its launch as a regular series, the show landed several honors, including four for Eve Arden, who won polls in four individual publications of the time. Arden had actually been the third choice to play the title role. Harry Ackerman, at the time CBS's West Coast director of programming, wanted Shirley Booth for the part.

Laughter is such a great thing!

A hidden gem in radio’s “Golden Age”
Revisado: 10-21-23
This is one of those shows that stays fresh throughout the years. Osgood Conklin’s self inflated ego vs Miss Brooks’ self deprecating statements makes every show an absolute laugh fest. It’s hard to listen to one episode without wanting to go right into the next one.

Historia
On March 25, 1911, as workers were getting ready to leave for the day, a fire broke out in the Triangle Shirtwaist factory in New York's Greenwich Village. Within minutes it spread to consume the building's upper three stories. Firemen who arrived at the scene were unable to rescue those trapped inside: their ladders simply weren't tall enough. People on the street watched in horror as desperate workers jumped to their deaths. It was the worst disaster in New York City history.

Interesting but Loong
Revisado: 04-21-18
The "Triangle" book furnishes every possible detail regarding the sad fire, the victims, and. The aftermath. As a historic reference work it is great, but as an audio book it's so filled with facts, figures, columns of names that it is difficult to keep track. An audio version would do well to be about half the length. Even better would be to purchase the book version so that the reader can easily flip back and forth to verify names and timeline. On the plus side, the narration is excellent; crisp, clear and the perfect tempo.

Historia
No bigger fad swept across postwar radio than that of the hard-boiled private detective - and nobody had more fun with their wink-and-nudge take on the genre than the producers, writers, and cast of The Adventures of Sam Spade. Dashiell Hammett's legendary private eye had a sardonic sense of humor, which wavy-haired, rugged-voiced Howard Duff played to perfection.

One of the best Radio Detectives
Revisado: 03-26-17
Sam Spade was a great combination of drama & humor. Howard Duff came thru as really enjoying playing the role and that flows out to the audience. And Irene Tuttle is the perfect sidekick foil. Every episode is a treasure.
