I have read most of the Will Trent series. This one has become one of my favorites. The character development or build up was great. The setting in the woods was great. Mercy was one of the strongest women I have ever read about. Can't wait for the next one. The narrator was spot on. No pace issues or pauses. Perfect tone for each characters. I loved it.

This juicy little mystery will defiantly keep you up at night and in a good way. This story follows four swinging neighbors. All different ethnic groups, different age groups, different home lives but with similar sexual intentions. Basically everyone is doing everyone. The cul-de-sac is going through a rough patch. They have lost one of their neighbors to suicide. The neighbors speculate that Mr. Franks killed himself because he ended up getting his neighbor, not his wife, pregnant. And couldn't deal with it. After the funeral the family moves away, the house goes up for sale. New neighbors move in with their own kind of kink. But the neighbors invite them to join in their sex parties and every thing seems next to normal. Until Mrs. Franks decides to look into her husbands death and clues start to surface about maybe his death was a murder instead. I liked how author Liz Crowe brought in all cultures, kinks and a very good plot. At first I wasn't sure what I was listening to. But the build up to the murder and who did it was skillfully done. I didn't like how judgmental the original women where and their alpha female teeth barring attitudes but saw the necessity for the story. It made me cringe sometimes with what they would say to each other.
I liked this book it was fun to listen too. Traci Odom did a excellent job narrating. She chose different voices, tones and accents for the characters. Perfect pitch and right amount of pause time. This is for a very mature group. It was entertaining and fun.

This book is sci-fi at its finest. Looking at the cover and then reading the description had me baffled when I started to listen to it. It definitely was not what I expected but in a great way. They have been mentioned already but this book reminded me of the books like the Divergent series or Hunger Games rolled up in one. Both series had strong female warriors and so does this one in Alexandra (Alex). She is 17 and has been groomed since she was 5. She is giving a choice in this new order world. To be a baby carrier or be injected and stripped of every emotion that makes us different. She embarks on an adventure for survival. Her character has a maturity beyond her 17 years. Along the way she meets Marek and Kasi and a slew of different characters. In this storyline about losing emotion you will find adventure and love, redemption and remorse and of course the enemy, evil. A society that wants to control every aspect, even the birth of a new generation.
Ashley McCoury is an incredible creative writer. She creates a world full of twists and turns. And an ending that may have ended the story but gives way for another adventure to follow. She moves you through scene after scene with vivid descriptions and remarkable settings. I could picture what they were wearing and get a sense of the smells. Truly gifted.
Lauren Garvin’s narration breathed life into this story. Her voice brought a calm and confident side to Alexandra. And at times an emotionless masculine voice. Garvin kept it at a fast but not forced pace. I enjoyed listening to her. I recommend this book to those who like this young adult fantasy genre. Books like the Maze Runner by Dashner and Legend by Marie Lu are similar, but each have their own unique story lines and followers. I would also recommend listening to this book. It brought an interesting element to the story.

I feel that this story can be made into any genre and still have the same values. It could be any girl trying to prove to herself and her peers that she is worthy of greatness. That she can break any barrier to reach her dream. And that sometimes it takes real divistation to show your worth. I think Randal Herus is a great storyteller. He puts his vision into great works. Narrator Aubriana Harshfield does a great job at portraying the youthfulness of Talk
Likes Thunder. She brings depth and foundation to the different charactors. Only a couple times did her tone feel cold and machine like.

I enjoyed this sweet glimpse into Indian history. I like how this story of a young Indian girl forged in tragedy with the death of her parents, is a story of survival. At a young age, Talks Like Thunder was taught, encouraged and nourished by her grandfather Gray Fox. He took her to a new village where she excels and learns the ropes as a female warrior. She overcomes many obstacles and along the way befriends another young warrior in training,Golden Eagle. As they grow older the conflict between tribal men and white men becomes violent. Many raids and captures affect the people of the Chiricahua village. Including Golden Eagle. Till the end when the village is hit by a massacre that takes out the whole village. Talks like Thunder is left to mourn and bury the dead. I felt the sadness and may have cried a little when I read about the special burial ceremony she gave her grandfather.

I believe this is a great book for a young adult audience. It can get graphic but a humbling story. Highly recommended!

Whether you were brought up in a religious family or discovered Christianity on your own, this book helps you celebrate your personal connection with God and to create your own path. Jack Bergstrand is a wise and gifted writer. He gives you different perspectives on why it’s important for you to look inside yourself and develop your own understanding. I liked the way Bergstrand invited you in and joined him on this journey of clarity. He wasn’t pushing a specific way and it never felt that he was saying you had to follow this way. It was a relatable, open discussion.
Scott Pollack narrated with a confident masculine voice. He brought depth and volume to the topics of Bergstrand’s words. This was easy to listen to. The words flowed rhythmically with good pause and timing. I would recommend this book to those who may need a little help clarifying their goals and inner strength.

I really liked this book. It took me back to a time of teenage drama, rock bands and growing up a metal head. You get to follow along with 17 year old Sean and a group of friends who form a band. Then you get a front row seat to the daily life of the struggles of becoming a group and living that rockstar life. I liked how the author connected with the life lessons he learned along the way. One of my favorite insight passages was when bandmate Ron had been grounded before the big show. Here the author points out how unfair it is for stepparents and the kids. Each trying to fix something that is broken and putting up with the hurt and pain that goes with it. It moved something in me.
I enjoyed listening to this book. The narrator Brian Telestai did a great job of projecting the youthfulness of the story and the emotion that goes with it. I would recommend this audible book. It was easy to listen to and brought back the nostalgia of a past era. Happy Listening.

Thank you Kevin Vought for having the strength and courage to write this memoir. It is breathtaking and worth talking about. It could not have been easy for Kevin to write. To relive those moments over and over to get them right. To survive after going through so much pain and neglect. To want to be a better person then what was programmed in him since birth. To become a better father, husband and advocate for the abused, A truly inspirational story.
Kevin was born in 1972 to a dad, brother and mom in Rochester, NY. The sad part is that Kevin was born a boy. His mom thought he was a girl, wanted a girl, dreamed he was a girl. He wasn’t and from day one. He never felt the true love from his mother. He became verbally, emotionally and physically abused for most of his childhood. Mostly by the hands of his mom. In these early years the story shows the growth of how Kevin learned to deal with his mother. It showed how he was able to control his surroundings. A favorite sentence that stood out was “That sums up most of my life: don’t go looking for trouble, but sure as hell don’t run from it like a coward either.”
In the later years Kevin met his wonderful life partner and biggest supporter, his wife Jill. With her help and the support of his extraordinary therapist he was able to come to terms and bring light to his traumatic childhood with his grandfather, mother and father.  I also believe that the five actions or personal traits that Kevin put together for himself can work for everybody. Those being, Be Steadfast, Be Goal-Oriented, Find Good People, Accept Help and Focus on Your Anger. I can’t say I enjoyed reading the subject of this book. However I could not put it down.  I truly enjoyed listening to the story. It was well organized and emotionally pleasing watching the growth from innocence to horror then acceptance and understanding to healing. Narrator Alan Taylor really brought the memoir to life. He brings warmth and passion to a ugly subject. He keeps you engaged and captivated with a smooth delivery.  I recommend this book to a mature audience.

I, with an open mind, enjoyed this complex story of the unknown. It taught me to doubt everything and enjoy the adventure while doing it. Johnny Hendrix is a complicated character. He has many layers and the author Brian Alexander brought out each one beautifully. He questions the truth of existence, has alien encounters and goes on a journey full of conspiracies. There are life lessons that I was surprised about in this story. Lessons on healing, having respect for all life and giving back to the universe. I was also surprised by the wisdom that is given in this book. It takes great imagination and a little knowledge of quantum physics to get through this story. I like Brian David Alexander’s writing style. It has a little bit of everything you would hope for in a great story. He draws you in and makes you think about what he is writing about. I can picture what he is describing. And sometimes you have to use your imagination because it’s really out there. It's a great story and one I would recommend if you like paranormal, spirituality and sci-fi.
I absolutely love the voice of narrator Frank Gerard. He does a great job of bringing the story to life. He identifies with each character and gives them a unique style or accent. It was perfectly done.

Larry Weiss has written a very powerful storyline. It is action packed, full of difficult decisions and life altering events. Unfortunately Tina Douglas makes bad decision after bad decision that sends her down deep into a spiral tunnel. She is an 18 year old girl who is stuck. She is stuck in an abusive and dangerous relationship with Rob who is a member of a notorious biker gang named Cascade Warriors. She is controlled, dominated and has little freedom. After a horrible event that ends with Tina pregnant. She flees. But what is she to do. Go back to her mother or try to start a new life somewhere else. But Rob and his gang have revenge plans and hunt her at every turn. Tina meets and befriends Jenny. Jenny becomes her protector and allies against Rob. Tina has many choices to make. Does she sign her baby away to adoption, does she help the police catch the gang or does she just run and never look back. This story just pulls you in and takes you on a ride.
Weiss is a superb storyteller. He paints a very vivid picture with high quality work. He creates layers and layers of deceit and beautifully dictates how people can react to each other. He effortlessly develops each character and builds on their strengths and weaknesses. Although some characters need a little more of a backstory or a what happened to them part of the book in general I want more.

As much as I enjoyed this book I had mixed feelings about the narrator. At most points she sounded just like a 18 year old young and naïve. The different characters were easily distinguished but at certain moments during the story it seemed like she was over acting the scene and it changed the mood of the story. Maybe being too passionate about a turn in the story. It did not stop me from listening nor was it off putting. Just different and unusual. I would recommend this book. It has all the makings of a great story. Drama, action, martial arts, bikers, revenge and some romance. Something for everyone.

An unexpected tale of determination

This tale is set in 18th century France. During this time women’s rights were to do their domestic duty and take care of any family and the husband was the one who was out in the public eye. A wife was committed to the husband and all of his interests. All Catherine Drummond could think about was marrying a kind man and having a family. She thought she found that kind of man in Robert Picard. Robert was an importer who brought goods to her dad’s shop. He would flirt with her and then court her before asking her to marry him. Catherine thought she knew her soon to be husband. But as soon as they became man and wife, Catherine’s ideal life started forming cracks. Robert fully expected Catherine to turn a blind eye when it came to his numerous other women. The author gets in deep with violence against women and the customary domestic abuse of this era. What I found astonishing was the limited resources of that time period. But Catherine never gives up and with faith, hope and a lot of determination she tries to get herself out of this mess. This is a sad and painful tale but also an unpredictable exciting story with historical context. I enjoyed listening about the boat journey and the meeting of the alligator, the monstrous reptile.
I thought author Jennifer Denslow has a very keen attention to detail. The way she described the French countryside and the women’s fashion was perfect. The building of Catherine’s character was quite unique. From timid and shy to confident and strong. A very believable tale. I like the little turns and plot twists of the story. I undeniably LOVED the narrator Elisabeth Lagelee. I had never heard her before. With a slight French accent she created very distinct voices to these characters that brought them to life. They were expressive and inspiring. I recommend this book to those who like a story with historical context. I also think that because the author devotes some time to domestic violence. This tale is for a more mature group.
