Historia
One sunny August afternoon, the residents of Cedar Close throw their annual summer barbecue. Children play in the cherry-tree lined street, tables are laden with food, and the wine is flowing. For Laurie Mills, it’s her first time meeting the neighbours. And it’s the first time she discovers her husband, Robert, is having an affair. Cedar Close has always been a nice place to live - a quiet suburban street where everyone looks out for one another and bad things don’t happen. Until late one evening, when Robert Mills is found dead in his bedroom.

Bad narrator

The voice was too high pitched and just plain annoying, it took away from the story.

THGIO, thank god it's over. Wasted time, not scary, not interesting. A big who cares. Too much hype for a lot of nothing.

All voices the same
Revisado: 02-22-24
Couldn't figure out who was speaking, male and female voices were the same. The narration for this book is confusing as there's no difference in voices. Better to read than listen.

Huh?
Revisado: 11-10-23
Started out fine but the last third/quarter of the story just didn't do it for me. All of a sudden I'm listening to the credits and I was left with a huh? Replayed the last hour, picked up a tiny bit more of the story I missed the first go around but I still felt as if I was missing some chapters. Just left me with questions and a what was the point. I listen and read a lot of books, but this one left me 'empty'. Was a free listen but there's no replacement for my listening time.

Jackie and Pete King have lived in Dunmore for years, running one of the two local pubs in the sleepy little town. Money has been tight after the bushfires, and it’s about to get tighter if they can’t find a way to pay their suppliers to keep their business going and keep the bank from foreclosing on their property. So when Jackie receives a mysterious phone call offering them $100,000 to let someone bury a body on their land, the answer isn’t as simple as they thought it would be.

Historia
This wasn’t the plan. Judge Herman Calvert, 88, never thought he’d outlive his beloved wife, Marie. Yet now he finds himself alone, a grieving widower, desperate for escape from the home they built together, where every turn brings a painful reminder of his late wife. Gardeners beware
Revisado: 02-26-23
Nice that it was set in the Midwest, next door to Illinois. That being said I'm a dedicated gardener and nothing better than getting a hold of nasty weedy vining plants and pulling them out while trying not to do a butt or face plant in the process. I felt for the Judge hoping for a victory over that nasty invasive Mile a Minute vine. Must read for all gardeners!

Blah, blah, who cares.
Revisado: 10-02-22
Followed the entire series and of course his other novels and have found them entertaining. This one just didn't do it for me at all; it was slow and layered with tons of Gigi, their infant and the boring basic family stuff - duh who really cares, we've all been done that road. Where is the mystery, suspense, drama, etc.? Had to double and triple listen to the last quarter of the book because it just was beyond dull. Thankfully it cost me nothing as part of my membership, except it's time I'll never get back.

Needs different narrator
Revisado: 07-16-22
Had to speed up the narration, slow plodding story made worse by a narrator who should stick to narrating text books. Story just didn't keep my interest, some parts of the story I replayed several times, what's with all the 'Parts' and Chapters? Sorry but I missed the areas of excitement, suspense and mystery, perhaps you'll be able to find them. Finished the book, not worth my time. Need to find a book from my library that has real suspense/mystery.

Horrible waste of time
Revisado: 07-03-22
Hard to believe it's written by Mark Edwards, it seems to be about a climate change cult, with a lot of preachy unsubstantiated so called 'facts'. It's exceedingly boring and barely kept my attention, I feel I should be rewarded for having finished. Should have given up on this drivel after the first few chapters.
