Good but should have been more

The story was good but there were holes and gaps in time and explanation. Big ones. This shouldn’t have been a novella with the issues that needed working. But the narration was great.

Amazing, short memoir…I want more

Just bad!

The stories are bad! No imagination, repetition of words and phrases takes away from the act, and basic of the basic. It was like a virgin explaining what sex is like. Cringe! And the narration made it all just that much worse. If you can even fake it, just don’t try to narrate a book about nothing but sex!

Disappointing ending

This isn’t my usual kind of book but I wanted to give a new author for me a chance. Story was really good, I enjoyed the characters and how the story built. But I was left wanting more. It’s like everything went well and just let the climax down. The ending was so disappointing too, it felt anticlimactic for me.

Decent plot but full of cliches

I mean, the story could have been so much better if it wasn’t turned into an over the top, unbelievable amount of trying too hard. The narrator did her job just poorly written. No thanks! I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.

Such a disappointment

After really enjoying the Brown sister series, I was excited about this. But sadly, it didn’t deliver. Too many old tropes, poor delivered, and the absolute worst part is THE NARRATION! This is a Black woman’s story being narrated by neither a Black woman nor a woman. But a man that just ruined all the nuance of a Black woman’s voice. I really didn’t even want to finish it, I was so disappointed. Do better!

Soooo cute!

Such a sweet story. It’s everything you hope actually happens on those dating shows. I loved Dev and Charlie.

But the narrator! Why did he mispronounce Dev’s name. It bugged me throughout the entire book.

Fantastically amazing!

Fantasy with a Black female lead character! Yes indeed! She’s strong while being vulnerable. And honestly, it goes to the top of the list for me. I just finished it and kinda at a loss for words. Just read it! You won’t regret it!
