I liked this narrator for the unique Scottish flair. Which the hero & main character used to his advantage.

Masked ball is fun

Like the character developed in a novella & the mystery of who-is-he. Very short even for a novella could’ve been a little more developed.

I have exactly 5 hours and 10 minutes to get from Boston to New York City or the professional opportunity of a lifetime disappears. My only travel option? The second to last seat on a discount bus. Across from the bathroom. Wearing last night’s clothes (don’t ask). All worth it if I can make it in time.

Historia
Written at the request of Charles Dickens, North and South is a book about rebellion that poses fundamental questions about the nature of social authority and obedience. Gaskell expertly blends individual feeling with social concern and her heroine, Margaret Hale, is one of the most original creations of Victorian literature. When Margaret Hale's father leaves the Church in a crisis of conscience she is forced to leave her comfortable home in the tranquil countryside of Hampshire....

Need staying power - get past 1/3 for story to build
Revisado: 07-21-23
Initially I quit the book because a third way in the story was flat. But I came back and I’m glad I did. The hero was not a favorite, but I did like the heroine.
Klassen is an expert at layering plots and characters are exceptional.
There is no way Edwards would ever appeal to me. However, he softens in the end. Enjoy!

Historia
Evan Eldridge never meant to be a war hero - he just wanted to fight Napoleon for the future of his country. And he certainly didn't think that saving the life of a peer would mean being made the Earl of Whitelock. But when the life you save is dear to the Prince Regent, things can change in a hurry. Now Evan has a new title, a manor house in shambles, and a stranger for a bride, all thrust upon him by a grateful ruler. What he doesn't have are all his memories. Traumatized as a result of his wounds and bravery on the battlefield, Evan knows there's something he can't quite remember.

Narrator voice takes getting used to
Revisado: 04-25-23
But her range of character voices is awesome and really led to a higher review with this audiobook. I didn’t care for her sing-song’y female but all lead to supporting a wide range of characters.
My first read by Erica Vetsch was excellent. I can’t wait for my second. Enjoy!
