Historia
The fascinating biography of the man who laid the foundation for the CIA. One of the most celebrated and highly decorated heroes of World War I, a noted trial lawyer, presidential adviser and emissary, and chief of America’s Office of Strategic Services during World War II, William J. Donovan was a legendary figure. Donovan, originally published in 1982, penetrates the cloak of secrecy surrounding this remarkable man. The result is the definitive biography that Donovan himself had always expected Dunlop would write.

Historia
Whatever the form, whatever the treat - sugar drives us wild like nothing else. It’s lingered on our tongues for millennia and found its way into almost every household in the world. Alas, the history of sugar is far from sweet. Long before it was linked to America’s obesity epidemic, sugar was fueling the dark forces of exploitation, colonization, conquest, and slavery. More than just candy and cake, sugar has drastically altered the diets, cultures, and economies of the modern world. How can we love sugar while having a healthy relationship with its bittersweet history?

Historia
Viktor Orlov had a longstanding appointment with death. Once Russia’s richest man, he now resides in splendid exile in London, where he has waged a tireless crusade against the authoritarian kleptocrats who have seized control of the Kremlin. His mansion in Chelsea’s exclusive Cheyne Walk is one of the most heavily protected private dwellings in London. Yet somehow, on a rainy summer evening, in the midst of a global pandemic, Russia’s vengeful president finally manages to cross Orlov’s name off his kill list.

Silva's Gabriel Allon is addictive
Revisado: 07-28-21
I've been a fan of Daniel Silva ever since "The Unlikely Spy". His ability to tell a story with characters easily recognizable by their frequent and intriguing past and update of their lives in each succeeding novel creates a sense of friendship, pride, and example of courage that I enjoy from the works (Continued) of Tom Clancy, W.E.B Griffen, and David Baldacci, etc. This is only the second Audible version of a Gabriel Allon novel for me. I've, until now, reserved Silva's work for print as a source of pure enjoyment. The narration by Edoardo Ballerini brings the characters to life totally in sync with my imagination when reading these works. My particular passion for this book is also driven by imagination of conversations that Silva and his bride, Jamie Gangel have as she is also one my favorite news journalist.
