Family undergoes difficult time

This book is about a young boy who is undergoing many difficult times. I only read a few chapters but I felt it was a real downer to my mood and I just wanted to s-c-r-e-a-m. Child all you need is Jesus to handle all this. He is the answer to all my difficulties....no matter how many come at once. Call me a Jesus freak if you want. There are many people facing difficulties they don't have answers for and I can't help these characters, so it is useless for me to read this book.
