Beautifully written, powerful romance, decent plot, and exquisitely spicey intimacy . This was the perfect balance. Climbed up into one of my favorite books.

Interesting elements but falls short

Interesting world, politics and philosophical implications. I love the dual perspective too. Ending fell flat and the shock value took away from the plot. The chemistry is highly lacking and difficult to be believable even for fantasy. The book would have honestly been better if all the time spent on the lackluster romance was not included and focus was redirected towards the world itself. It made the attempted romance seem forced. it just wasn’t believable even in their world. There are a lot of discrepancies and holes in the story itself so I Won’t be reading the second book.

Bought the second book in less than 5 minutes after finishing this one

Heroine who keeps her wits about her, magic, sexy vampires and intriguing politics. The spice adds to the plot and only made the story more intriguing. I absolutely love that the heroine isn’t dumb in love and doesn’t lose sight of her plans.
