Historia
Earth is not well. The promise of starting life anew somewhere far, far away—no climate change, no war, no Twitter—beckons, and settling the stars finally seems within our grasp. Or is it? Critically acclaimed, bestselling authors Kelly and Zach Weinersmith set out to write the essential guide to a glorious future of space settlements, but after years of research, they aren’t so sure it’s a good idea.

Humorous and serious look at space settlement

The authors were thorough in their research and ideas. They also wrote in a very humorous way. The narrator was fabulous! Well worth the credit.

I felt like she understood what I went through when I tried to do huge cleaning sessions. I’m now beginning to accept the slow and steady pace of cleaning and decluttering.

Revisado: 05-14-23
This book was so beautiful to listen to. One credit is so worth it to listen to the poetry of this book. I even bought the hard copy so I could go back and linger on what the writer read on the audiobook. Just beautiful!

Historia
In How to Think Like a Woman, Penaluna blends memoir, biography, and criticism to tell the stories of four women, weaving throughout an alternative history of philosophy. Funny, honest, and wickedly intelligent, this is a moving meditation on what philosophy could look like if women were treated equally.

A welcome change
Revisado: 04-02-23
I am so glad I purchased this book. To hear about these four women philosophers was well worth the time. I love the bits of memoir throughout. I was angered many times by the fact that men would dismiss the thoughts of women because they were women. It reminds me of how even today women are seen as second class. However, the introduction to women philosophers and thinkers was a great way to re-introduce these forgotten women.

Historia
Jane Austen’s most popular novel, originally published in 1813, some 17 years after it was first written, presents the Bennet family of Longbourn. Against the background of gossipy Mrs. Bennet and the detached Mr. Bennet, the quest is on for husbands for the five daughters. The spotlight falls on Elizabeth, second eldest, who is courted by Mr. Darcy, though initially she is more concerned with the fate of her other sisters. This marvelous account of family life in Regency England is read with customary panache by Juliet Stevenson.

Love the narrator!
Revisado: 01-04-22
I wish this narrator would do some other Jane Austen books. She’s absolutely fabulous. She really gets into the parts but it isn’t overdramatized. As always, Jane Austen is awesome. I have listened to this book so many times I’m glad it’s not a tape or it would be worn out!

Historia
Everyone knows that timing is everything. But we don't know much about timing itself. Our lives are a never-ending stream of "when" decisions: when to start a business, schedule a class, get serious about a person. Yet we make those decisions based on intuition and guesswork. Timing, it's often assumed, is an art. In When: The Scientific Secrets of Perfect Timing, Pink shows that timing is really a science.

Loved the book
Revisado: 01-07-19
I greatly enjoyed this book and have applied a lot of the information to my own life. There were a few times where the narration was choppy, especially when mentioning quotes” but not enough to greatly hinder my enjoyment of the book. I would listen to the author narrate his own books again.
