Have you ever wondered about the deep-sea depths of unorthodox, unclassifiable stories that most ghostwriters take to their graves unseen? The kind of tales that straddle realities and make you second-guess the line between fact and fabulist fiction? If so, Mnemonic Phantasms is the deliciously twisted tell-all you've been waiting for. In this daring anthology, an anonymous ghostwriter exposes some of the most bizarre, mind-bending client requests they've encountered over decades of sculpting prose in the shadows.

Revisado: 05-18-24
Mnemonic Phantasms was seriously one of the most unique and fascinating stories I have ever had the opportunity to listen to. I knew absolutely nothing about the world of ghostwriting prior to listening to this so I love that this audiobook gave a glimpse into the world. Another thing I loved about this is the narration. Luigi Rondanini does an incredible job with bringing this audiobook to life and it made it so much fun to listen to. Lastly, the major twist at the end of this is absolutely crazy and I was not anticipating it whatsoever. I highly recommend everyone take the opportunity to listen to this amazing gem of a story.

Once Upon a Time...for a Meaningful Discussion. Do the fairy tales we hold dear send messages we find unsettling today? This two-volume collection pulls back the curtain on beloved bedtime classics to uncover what public assumptions they could silently nurture about gender, violence and power. Volume 1 traces six iconic tales’ problematic roots in oral folklore and evolving messages across later literary adaptations.

Reawakening the Magic Volume 1 was such an incredible book that truly brings insight and in-depth analysis about fairy tales. It does a wonderful job of discussing the history and origin behind multiple famous fairy tales such as Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Peter Pan, Beauty and the Beast, etc. The author then goes into detail about the different versions and how the newer versions have changed so significantly from how they began. Overall, this book was eye-opening and it provided an entirely new perspective into how I look at fairy tales in general. I am excited to read volume 2 and highly recommend this book to anyone who loves and enjoys fairy tales.

Paint your toes. Pick up the wrong coffee and bagel order. Drive from Brooklyn to Jersey in traffic so slow you want to tear your hair out. It’s amazing all the useless things I can accomplish while on hold for three hours with customer service. Three hours when I should be getting the Date-in-a-Box website ready to launch at the big business expo in a few days. Except my shiny new website is glitching, and my inner rage-monster is ready to scorch some earth...when he finally picks up. Not the robot voice I expected but a real live human named Kal.

I absolutely loved Call Me Maybe and seriously thought it was one of the cutest audiobooks that I have ever listened to! Luci Christian and Neil Hellegers both did such an incredible job with bringing Vera and Kal to life. It truly felt like I was watching a movie going on in my head the entire time I was listening with all the additional sound effects as well (the phone ringing, typing on the computer, etc.) Overall, this was such a fun book to listen to and I will definitely be listening to more Cara Bastone audiobooks in the future for sure!

Masterpiece
Revisado: 01-20-24
Smilin’ Sam’s Corn Maze is an absolute masterpiece and I listened to the entire novella in one sitting because it captivated me from the very beginning. I thought it was truly incredible how seamlessly both Catherine Bryant’s medical journey with being diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease and her getting justice for what happened to her daughter Lizzy 40 years ago when she disappeared from a corn maze were combined together. Additionally, the narrator did such an amazing job with bringing the scarecrow to life. Overall, the story was spooky, full of twists and turns, and I loved it. I definitely will be recommending it to friends and family for sure.

4.5 stars- I am so honored to have received a free audiobook of the story from the author in exchange for an honest review. Lost had me hooked from beginning to end and I truly loved the story. Faith and Tilley go through so much and it was so inspiring to see how the girls always stick by each other through the good and the bad times. Overall, I highly recommend listening to this book and I am so excited to listen to the sequel next!

I loved everything about Flawless! Summer and Rhett were both such relatable characters and their chemistry was off-the-charts. They were so supportive and protective of each other and I truly enjoyed reading the story from both of their perspectives. I additionally loved all the Eaton boys, Willa, Kip, Harvey, Theo, Jasper, etc. I also thought it was amazing to learn so much about bull-riding through reading this story. This was my first ever book I have read from Elsie Silver and I absolutely will be reading the rest of this series. I can’t wait to read Cade’s story next.

4.5 stars- It takes a lot to scare me but Devil’s Born absolutely terrified me. The vibes of the story were a combination of “The Exorcist”, “Chucky”, and “Rosemary’s Baby”. There were so many twists and turns throughout the story and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Additionally, the narrator did an incredible job of making the story extra creepy. Overall, I highly recommend listening to this book and I definitely plan to read and listen to future books from Mia Giglio.
