Wonderful Story & Narrator
Revisado: 09-08-24
I so enjoyed this story!
Enough can't be said about the narrator. She wove together the endearing story using perfectly appropriate character voices. She did particularly well with the children's characters.
A delightful listen!

Historia
The Night Gardener follows two abandoned Irish siblings who travel to work as servants at a creepy, crumbling English manor house. But the house and its family are not quite what they seem. Soon the children are confronted by a mysterious spectre and an ancient curse that threatens their very lives. With Auxier’s exquisite command of language, The Night Gardener is a mesmerizing read and a classic in the making.

Founded by the mysterious genius known as the Designer, the archipelago of Prospera lies hidden from the horrors of a deteriorating outside world. In this island paradise, Prospera’s lucky citizens enjoy long, fulfilling lives until the monitors embedded in their forearms, meant to measure their physical health and psychological well-being, fall below 10 percent. Then they retire themselves, embarking on a ferry ride to the island known as the Nursery, where their failing bodies are renewed, their memories are wiped clean, and they are readied to restart life afresh.

Too Long through Repetition
Revisado: 06-25-23
Should have been a shorter listen. So, so very much repetition in situations, conditions, and dialog. Interesting overall, but I nearly quit the whole thing in the final hour from frustration.
Nice narration.

Loved this kickoff to the series. Agatha's true colors and spunk shine through.
The narrator is simply amazing. She delivers spot on accents and one feels that she truly captures all there is in Agatha.

Historia
A humble fisherman’s life is changed forever when he catches a genie who fills his net with magical fish, the first of many unusual transformations in this ancient tale. Bedtime stories are narrated by the world’s most celebrated voices and written with no beginning, middle, or end so you don’t stay up to hear what happens next. They're interesting enough to give your mind something to focus on, but delivered in a way that encourages sleep.

Narrator Trouble for Me
Revisado: 06-26-20
This review and rating is not of the book.
Stopped 5 minutes in. The Narrator sounds like a professional announcer. This in turn makes his characterizations sound like he's mimicking them rather than acting out their parts in the natural, conversational tones one encounters in a multi-person dialog.
Bottom line is I just couldn't keep listening.
