Good storytelling

I like the story, but the description of some of the fights are frustrating. I Lost count, but I believe the writer used more than 10 chapters and several hours to describe the last of a series of fights. The over dramatic and endless description is excruciatingly boring. Hope the writer will focus more on storyline and world building in the next novel.

Filler novel in otherwise excellent series

By far the worst novel Elantra chronicles. As always Michelle Sagara delivers excellent story telling, but this latest novel progresses at a glacial pace and delivers very little progress in the storyline. You can easily skip this novel without loosing the story - and save yourself from a very tedious listen.

Dissapointing story with little personality

It feels like very little storytelling and the main characters has only trivial personality. Only possible to finish the story because of the excellent narrator.

Great book, but too much focus on side stories

Great to have Ryoka back in the story. There are some great stories and person development. However, the side stories about the Doctor and about the King are boring and takes up far too much of the book. Andrea does as usual a fantastic job, but the book suffers from very little development in the main story telling.

No character development and no progression in the overall story. You can skip to the next novel without missing anything. I love the previous novels and hope the next will be better.

Good story but extremely long winded

The narrator makes the story come alive - but the fights are far too detailed. The story drownes in meaningless details that makes the action boring.

Bible school reading disguised as fantasy

The story starts ouf fine, though a little heavy on the religous content. In the second book, the story slides to the background and is overtaken by biblical scripture. Not my cup of tea...

Complex, depressing but also captivating

Would you listen to Paths of Alir again? Why?

No, the story is too dark and gloomy. The story keeps expanding and moves very slowly. There is to much suffering and failure to ballance the few bright moments.

Captivating and complex universe. Many interesting and courageous caracters.

What does Nick Podehl bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Excellent narrator! He brings caracter and life to the story.

The Spider has lost its thread

While I have enjoyed the previous books in this series, the story has lost its direction. struggling to get to the end, I believe its high time to end the series.
