Great Interpretation
Revisado: 05-13-22
The narration of this classic is absolutely amazing and 100% worthy of this Steinbeck masterpiece. Steinbeck never ceases to amaze me either, a genius ahead of his time.

This novel contains all the characteristics I require to thoroughly enjoy a book; good story, complex characters, great beginning, levity, mystery, romance, sadness, great ending and the narration is second to none.

So good!!
Revisado: 11-22-19
I read this book cover to cover back in the 90’s and loved it then. I recommended it to a friend who is from that area and is a descendent of slaves from there. I decided to listen to it so she and I could have informed discussions and I figured I had forgotten a lot of details. It was as if I read it for the first time and loved it all over again. On to “Red River” for the first time!!

Historia
Elsa is seven years old and different. Her grandmother is 77 years old and crazy, standing-on-the-balcony-firing-paintball-guns-at-men-who-want-to-talk-about-Jesus crazy. She is also Elsa's best and only friend. At night Elsa takes refuge in her grandmother's stories, in the Land of Almost-Awake and the Kingdom of Miamas, where everybody is different and nobody needs to be normal.

Complex and Good
Revisado: 10-17-19
I picked this story because of the close relationship I have with my granddaughter and saw similarities between our relationship and Elsa’s & Granny’s. The story was so much more than I had originally anticipated. I am retelling it to my Granddaughter and we are both enjoying the experience. Great book.

Historia
Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.

Historia
Zachary Quinto - best known for his role as the Nimoy-approved Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and the menacing, power-stealing serial killer, Sylar, in Heroes - brings his well-earned sci-fi credentials and simmering intensity to this audio-exclusive novella from master storyteller John Scalzi. One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone - 999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don't know.

Historia
Cassie Forrest could almost believe life at Kingdom Come Farm is perfect, with Adrian and her friends at her side and spring on the way. The spring thaw also means millions of defrosting zombies, however, and if the past year has taught her anything, it's that life in this new world is highly imperfect. When Safe Zones throughout the country begin to disappear and the zombies at the fences grow in number, Cassie clings to the hope that if she has the people she loves most, it will be all right.

Historia
Cassie Forrest isn't surprised to learn that the day she’s decided to get her life together is also the day the world ends. After all, she’s been on a self-imposed losing streak since her survivalist parents died: she’s stopped painting, broken off her engagement to Adrian and dated a real jerk. Rectifying her mistakes has to wait, however, because Cassie and her friends have just enough time to escape Brooklyn for her parents’ cabin before Bornavirus LX turns them into zombies, too.

Pleasant Surprise!
Revisado: 10-13-17
I have avoided Zombie and Vampire Apocalypses since I'm just not that into Zombies and Vampires but I gave this story a chance because I enjoyed a snippet of "So Long Lollipops" (next book in series) and loved it. This is not a story about fighting Zombies, it's a story about bonding, survival, forgiveness and unity. Can't wait to continue on with the series, especially recommended for dystopian novel enthusiasts.
