Historia
Civil war looms in the Bobiverse in this brand-new, epic-length adventure by Audible number one best seller Dennis E. Taylor. More than a hundred years ago, Bender set out for the stars and was never heard from again. There has been no trace of him despite numerous searches by his clone-mates. Now Bob is determined to organize an expedition to learn Bender’s fate - whatever the cost. But nothing is ever simple in the Bobiverse. Bob’s descendants are out to the 24th generation now, and replicative drift has produced individuals who can barely be considered Bobs anymore.

From two-fisted crimebuster to über-patriot, social crusader to spiritual savior, Superman—perhaps like no other mythical character before or since—has evolved in a way that offers a Rorschach test of his times and our aspirations. In this deftly realized appreciation, Larry Tye reveals a portrait of America over seventy years through the lens of that otherworldly hero who continues to embody our best selves.

The author used too many definitive statements drawn from subjection. For instance - stating that the comic industry would no tbe here today without Superman etc... My moderate thinking would argue that Superman heavily influenced etc...
The scope of the topic is covered wtih inconsistent detail. I was expecting a lot more structure and purpose.

Historia
The life story of Gary Gygax, godfather of all fantasy adventure games, has been told only in bits and pieces. Michael Witwer has written a dynamic, dramatized biography of Gygax from his childhood in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, to his untimely death in 2008. Gygax's magnum opus, Dungeons & Dragons, would explode in popularity throughout the 1970s and '80s and irreversibly alter the world of gaming. D&D is the best-known, best-selling role-playing game of all time, and it boasts an elite class of alumni.

In How Star Wars Conquered the Universe, veteran journalist Chris Taylor traces the series from the difficult birth of the original film through its sequels, the franchise’s death and rebirth, the prequels, and the preparations for a new trilogy. Taylor provides portraits of the friends, writers, artists, producers, and marketers who labored behind the scenes to turn Lucas’s idea into a legend.

A balanced perspective: Lucas is human
Revisado: 01-28-15
I was initially doubtful if this story would add anything to previous books, such as 'The Secret History of Star Wars' by Michael Kaminski. The start, as you would predict, is the same start; but whereas previous novels attempt to debunk Lucas' genuineness, Taylor describes the ripples that the creation process created - and eventually the tidal wave that is Star Wars.
The last quarter of the book examines Lucas and the fans - and many disappointments, as well as the highlights. Originally i was a prequel hater. This book has given me the drive to give the 3 movies another chance, and i think more highly of Lucas in general.
This is a great companion to the other Star Wars book.

Historia
Kevin Mitnick was the most elusive computer break-in artist in history. He accessed computers and networks at the world’s biggest companies—and however fast the authorities were, Mitnick was faster, sprinting through phone switches, computer systems, and cellular networks. He spent years skipping through cyberspace, always three steps ahead and labeled unstoppable.

The story feels very single sided, even when Kevin discloses his discretion; you are left wondering how plausible his account of unwavering morals are.
I hope that it is near reality, as the book leads you along a journey where you cant help but to have empathy for Mitnick.

Historia
Before smartphones, back even before the Internet and personal computer, a misfit group of technophiles, blind teenagers, hippies, and outlaws figured out how to hack the world’s largest machine: the telephone system. Starting with Alexander Graham Bell’s revolutionary "harmonic telegraph", by the middle of the 20th century the phone system had grown into something extraordinary, a web of cutting-edge switching machines and human operators that linked together millions of people like never before. But the network had a billion-dollar flaw, and once people discovered it, things would never be the same.

The book successfully builds up the history surrounding phone hacking, merging multiple threads and revelations. As a person with reasonable technological exposure, i found it very enjoyable. The absolute layman can still enjoy the tales.

Philip K Dick is one of the most engaging sci-fi/fantasy writes i have ever read. I have yet to be disappointed.
I was completely drawn into the story, the characters are written with such faithful emotions and motivations.
One of my most favourite books in my collection. Great Story, and narrated perfectly by Paul Giamatti.
