a car ride with an unknown destination
Revisado: 05-26-24
there is some aspects of the story which i can summarize as confusing, off kilter, an acid trip across experiences that roam through time and space. yet somehow i first guessed the true horror of this weird little tale and was pleasantly surprised it came together (somehow).

Historia
Deep in the jungle of Peru, where so much remains unknown, a black, skittering mass devours an American tourist whole. Thousands of miles away, an FBI agent investigates a fatal plane crash in Minneapolis and makes a gruesome discovery. Unusual seismic patterns register in a Kanpur, India, earthquake lab, confounding the scientists there. During the same week, the Chinese government "accidentally" drops a nuclear bomb in an isolated region of its own country.

It's like World War Z.....
Revisado: 04-20-23
Minus the interesting POVs and the methodical take on the monster genre. What you have instead is a gory B-Movie minus the fun. I don't think i needed the intricacies of a fbi agents love life (or lack thereof) spliced in between moments of supposed abject horror... but to each their own. Granted, the attention to detail this book puts on its characters would be nice if they did anything of value besides getting eaten or being completely safe. Overall, this story is like eight legged freaks but not as fun, charming, or scary. The voice acting was good.
