Read LOTR and Silmarillion first

A reader of this work would be well advised to have also first read at least the LOTR and Silmarillion.
Other Tolkien writings such as the Children of Hurin, Beren and Lúthien and the Fall of Gondolin could also be read before this work for a fuller background.

Good listen if a bit scattered in presentation.

While narration was very listenable, the story was a little unreachable as it has been too many years since I was a more enthusiastic fan of The Sillmarilion.
