Historia
Set in the London of the 1660s and of the early 21st century, The Weight of Ink is the interwoven tale of two women of remarkable intellect: Ester Velasquez, an emigrant from Amsterdam who is permitted to scribe for a blind rabbi, just before the plague hits the city, and Helen Watt, an ailing historian with a love of Jewish history. As the novel opens, Helen has been summoned by a former student to view a cache of 17th-century Jewish documents newly discovered in his home during a renovation.

Great story! Great reader!
Revisado: 09-14-18
At first I was intimidated by the length of this book, and story sounded complicated. But the story was very engaging and went back-and-forth in time very nicely. The characters were well developed and believable. The writing was amazing. I highly recommend either reading or listening to this book. I listened to it and the reader was fantastic.

I read Logical Family for book group and had no idea who Armistead Maupin was... but now I’ll never forget him. Great writer, very interesting life, touching reflections throughout. I highly recommend listening to Armistead’s Reading of his memoir, ending with a great interview.

Historia
Gloria Steinem - writer, activist, organizer, and one of the most inspiring leaders in the world - now tells a story she has never told before, a candid account of how her early years led her to live an on-the-road kind of life, traveling, listening to people, learning, and creating change. She reveals the story of her own growth in tandem with the growth of an ongoing movement for equality. This is the story at the heart of My Life on the Road.

Excellent book...lots to learn about Gloria Steinem
Revisado: 03-06-18
I enjoyed Gloria Steinem’s book very much. I remember her so well from my college and young adult days and was very inspired by her then...back when the word feminist was not a dirty word, but gave us all strength. It was so interesting to read about her growing up, in the context of her whole life. What an amazing woman; what an interesting, productive and genuine life she has had.

Historia
On May 1, 1915, with WWI entering its tenth month, a luxury ocean liner as richly appointed as an English country house sailed out of New York, bound for Liverpool, carrying a record number of children and infants. The passengers were surprisingly at ease, even though Germany had declared the seas around Britain to be a war zone. For months, German U-boats had brought terror to the North Atlantic.

Love this book, intriguing story
Revisado: 10-12-16
I got into this book from page 1. I thought the writing was exquisite, and I really loved reading it. The story kept unwinding until the very end. Once I stepped into part II of the book, I kept thinking OMG... what a great perspective. Now I want to read it again from the beginning... Great character development and plotline. 👍👍
