Definitely a story filled with romance. The story was really interesting especially since there are so many fires in California right now. And on top of the fires, they must face other problems as well. Yes, there is a happy ever after.

Story of a strong woman and the man who loved her.

Kinley is a very strong person. Her young life would make you want to cry. And then when you think her life might change for the better, she becomes a witness of a couple of powerful people doing something very wrong. And they want her dead. By the way, there are twist and turns in this story that I did not expect. But it is a also a wonderful love story as well. Definitely, if you love Susan Stoker's books, you will love this one.

A Good Story

This is a hard review to write. I enjoyed the story and the plot. The one thing that bothered me was just as the story is moving along, the author throws in another love scene. I get the couple is hot for each other as they constantly keep saying that during the book. But after awhile, I just wanted to story to move along because you just know that the bad guy has got to do something. The performers are good but I kept wondering during the story why the girl didn't do the girl's part all the time and the guy would do his part during the story. It is broken up that when the guy is speaking his part, he does all the parts. The same with the woman. So what you get is a woman doing the voice for the man and the next time the man is doing his part and then he does the woman's part. It got confusing. But all in all, I enjoyed the book.

Amazing!

The first thing I want to mention is the performance - it was awesome. The actors did a remarkable job of presenting all the different characters with a voice to match each one. Then there were sound effects that enhanced the scenes. I would definitely want to hear these two again in the next books. The story was packed with love, adventure, and action. Lots and lots of action. Then there is new information on the brooches. Anyway, loved the book but the audible version is amazing.

I have always enjoyed Ms. Sexton books about her bears and wolves. What a great place to live. (Love the bakery and the BBQ place.) Now I am enjoying her new series about the Rocky Mountain Smoke jumpers. I loved the humor. The story is well written. The characters are well developed. And the narration is great. I recommend this audible and the book.
