This is my first book by Brooke, but certainly not my last. If anything, it made me more excited to go back and start at the beginning of the series. Since I haven’t read any other books in the series, I wasn’t sure what to expect going in, but Brooke did a great job at making me feel like I wasn’t missing out on any important history.

I would say if you have any triggers, please review Brooke’s note at the beginning of the book. While there is a beautiful romance, there is a lot of pain that these characters experience.

Waylon has always taken care of his twin brother, Wilder. So when he happens to connect with someone in a group chat, he finally sees it as a chance to have some fun and happiness. Little does he know though that it’s his ex’s younger sister. Waylon is patient and caring and Harlow is mature and wise for her age. Despite their age gap, they are perfect for each other.

Ava Erickson and Teddy Hamilton are top notch and were perfect as Harlow and Waylon. They really brought the characters to life and made the audio that much more enjoyable of an experience. I can’t recommend it enough.

Audios are my life right now, so I highly recommend that format. I think Andi Arndt and Ryan West did a wonderful job as Jovana and Grayson.

Grayson is an alpha hole to the extreme. Definitely grumpy compared to Easton from book 1. He is NOT HAPPY in the slightest about this arrangement. Jovana has feelings for him since their one night stand and hopes that she can change his mind about love. I cracked up several times over Grayson and his grumpiness. I was also impressed with how Jovana put her foot down to get what she wanted. Of course, they have incredible chemistry and have no problem in the bedroom. A fun, new addition to the Hooked series!

Caleb & Kate are perfect and HOT!

♾️⭐️ for the audio!!! Duet narration with dream team Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais. They absolutely killed it. I can’t wait to relisten already.

I wasn’t sure that this series was going to be for me but I’m so glad to finally find a book that hit for me. I absolutely loved this one so much and it was everything I needed at this moment.

I’ll admit, I didn’t finish the 2nd book, which I do believe should be read prior to this one. I just didn’t care for the characters or couple. However, I had enough knowledge to know who Kate and Beck were and understood how we got to this point.

I love a good redemption story and this one was perfect. Although, I don’t really feel like Kate needed a redemption necessarily. I understood her trauma and so much of it was very relatable. *Cue the tears*
She made reckless decisions prior to the start of the book and questionable choices in this one, but I was rooting for her the entire time. I’m firmly Team Kate and I’m so glad she had someone like Beck in her corner. I’m right there with him. I will protect her at all cost!

Beck…that man! 😮‍💨 He was so helplessly in love with her. I think deep down Kate always knew he was the right one for her but given her not so ideal past, she wanted to hold on to that kernel of hope and a chance of a better life and family that she thought Caleb could give her.

Ultimately, Caleb and Kate were completely wrong for each other. He was absent during the times she needed him most and she was just never going to be the person he wanted her to be. She needed a man like Beck. Someone who saw her for who she is, flaws and all, and loved her regardless.

Their HEA was everything I couple have wanted. For them as individuals and as a couple. It was so beautiful! 🥺

Glad I gave MZ another chance. Really enjoyed this audio! Duet narration with Callie Dalton and Teddy Hamilton. If you like the movie, The Cutting Edge, you’ll like this!

This is the slowest burn I’ve ever read but it didn’t bother me. Honestly I think I would have been fine without the 1 spice scene we got at 96% - no lie! 🤣

Umm, I kind of loved this! This is my first Ali Hazelwood book so I have nothing to compare it to, but it was such an unexpected surprise. Now all of the science lingo went over my head but I loved how quirky and cute this was. I liked both main characters a lot and the overall plot. And holy cow, I was not expecting the spice. Jack..my man. He can get it! 😮‍💨👏🏻 Love when the man’s goal is for his woman to get her pleasure first. He was so weak for Elsie!

I loved the little bit of drama added in because it made the story more interesting. Overall, a solid read for me. Loved the audio so much! This narrator, Thérèse Plummer, did a wonderful job. Her style of narrating reminded me of Julia Whelan.

The Fallen Men series is one of my favorite series of all time! I love this world, these characters and returning to Entrance, BC felt like a homecoming!

I know we thought this day would never come, but Axe-Man and Mei were a great addition to the series. I knew NOTHING about Axe-Man but he surprised me in the best way. Mei was a bad ass heroine! Henning is such an amazing and complex man. I loved getting his back story and how he and Cleo became a family! 🥺 Mei is Cleo’s best friend and has always thought of Henning as her “white knight.” They are her family. As Mei gets older, her admiration for Henning turns into more.

A situation happens that causes Mei to disappear from their lives for several years. If you’ve read Dead Man Walking, then you know something bad happens to Cleo. Mei ends up returning after all these years to help heal her friend. Tension between Henning and Mei hits at an all time high. It’s forbidden but resisting the temptation is hard. This book was one hell of a slow burn, but in true Giana fashion, she always delivers on the spice. Can’t wait to see whose book we get next!

Audio review:

I enjoyed the audio but as someone who typically listens around 2.5x, I found myself having to decrease the speed to understand the female narrator. Her raspy voice made it hard to understand the dialogue at times. I had to follow along with the book during parts to understand what was being said. I thought Scott Rose voiced Axe-Man perfectly. He had a great pitch and was very easy to understand.

I loved this book the first time I read it and loved it just as much with my audio reread. Tristan remains a top tier book boyfriend for me and Remy is one of my fave FMCs.

Audio was perfection! I've been waiting for this day since I first read 5 Rounds back in January 2022. Remy and Tristan have always been my #1 Fight Game couple and it was so good to hear their characters and story brought to life. Brooke Daniels and Gideon Frost are perfect for Remy and Tristan. I'm not usually picky with narrators, but I definitely had an idea in my head of what they would sound like and Nikki nailed it. I listened at 2.2x speed and had no issues keeping up with the story. Y'all know me, I can't do lower than 2.0.

You'll want to grab this audio! Hearing the spice scenes and Tristan say “good girl” is next level hot.

Duet narration with Teddy Hamilton & Vanessa Vasquez.

This felt like such a genuine and realistic depiction of a marriage in trouble and two people trying to work their way back to each other. I’ve seen reviews saying Dominic didn’t do enough but in my opinion, they are ultimately both responsible for their marriage failing. Yes, Dominic was absent but Alessandra also never communicated her unhappiness. I think he was doing everything he could to show that he still loved her and would always be there for her, while giving her the space she requested to “find herself” again. The love was always there. Sometimes people don’t realize their faults until it’s too late. That’s why communication is key.

This one just gave me all the feels and I was so happy to see this couple get their HEA! 🥰

I probably did about 80% audio/20% reading and let me just say… Angelina Rocca and Jason Clarke were perfect! Highly recommend the audio! Couldn’t have picked a better duo for Beau and Bailey! 👏🏻

If y’all thought Willa was a vibe, wait until you meet Bailey. The girl is completely unfiltered. I was dying at the things that came out of her mouth. Let’s just say she had Beau lost for words on more than one occasion. Bailey is young but you can see her strength. She’s constantly punished for the sins of her brothers and all she wants is to be valued for who she is and not where she came from. I loved her character so much! And Beau with his protective nature and the way he went to bat for Bailey…swoon! I really appreciate the way his trauma/healing was handled and especially how Bailey was his rock during those moments. 𝟐:𝟏𝟏 😭💚 I absolutely loved their pairing!

I’m sad that Chestnut Springs has come to an end but I think this was a perfect conclusion. I’m looking forward to what Elsie has in store for us!
