Historia
Chief medical examiner Kay Scarpetta is the reluctant star witness in a sensational murder trial when she receives shocking news. The judge’s sister has been found dead. At first glance, it appears to be a home invasion, but then why was nothing stolen, and why is the garden strewn with dead plants and insects? Although there is no apparent cause of death, Scarpetta recognizes telltale signs of the unthinkable, and she knows the worst is yet to come. The forensic pathologist finds herself pitted against a powerful force that returns her to the past.

I love Patricia Cornwell's books and I am so happy to have my favorite back. Ive missed Scarpetta! This book doesn't disappoint at all! My only issue is it not as long as her other novels.

Historia
Shelby was in a devastating car accident, and everyone in town thinks that she was undergoing more physical therapy in Denver. Instead, Shelby's mother enrolled her in a clinical program to stop the panic attacks that started after the crash. The treatment erased Shelby's memory of the accident, but she can't help feeling as if a piece of herself is missing, that the treatment took more than the doctors claimed.

Historia
Twenty-five years ago, Maggie Holt and her parents, Ewan and Jess, moved into Baneberry Hall, a rambling Victorian estate in the Vermont woods. Three weeks later they fled in the dead of night, an ordeal Ewan later recounted in a nonfiction book called House of Horrors. His horror memoir of ghostly happenings and encounters with malevolent spirits became a worldwide phenomenon, rivaling The Amityville Horror in popularity — and skepticism.

Nice and cozy little mystery.
Revisado: 01-12-20
As a fan of fast paced thrillers and mysteries, this was a nice 'break" from them while still using my noggin to figure it out before the narrator got to it. The narrator's voice fits very well with the pace of this book. An excellent book for young adults that love mysteries, or someone looking to dip their toes in this genre. Sophie really should change careers and become an investigator!

Don't listen to this at night especially if you live close to where these horrible shootings happened. This will make you think about your personal safety and of your loved ones. This is the best Audible Original I have ever listened to and highly recommend this.

In the quiet of twilight, on an early autumn day, 26-year-old Elisa Vandersteel is killed while riding her bicycle along the Charles River. It appears she was struck by lightning - except the weather is perfectly clear, with not a cloud in sight. Dr. Kay Scarpetta, the Cambridge Forensic Center's director and chief, decides at the scene that this is no accidental act of God.
