Fortuna Minor is overrun by Speed Waaagh!s, its population enslaved to build weaponised effigies of the orks’ foul gods. For the Imperial forces on the planet, every hour is a hopeless fight for survival. But into this nightmare steps Arcadian Leontus – Lord Commander of the Segmentum Solar, peerless tactician and mastermind of countless victories. Lord Solar, lower enlisted edition
Revisado: 02-28-25
Big boss solar gets laid low and rallies a guerilla campaign with all sergeants and below. Short audio book, great time. Both the author and the VA nail the vibe for a story beat like this. VA does a good orc too.

Only the Kasrkin stand a chance at bringing him back. They are the elite of the elite, but the enemy that Captain Bharath Obeysekera and his squad are called upon to fight is unlike any they have faced before—the desert itself, endless and implacable

Assassins and Knights: Better Together.
Revisado: 07-15-22
Have no fear of a boring and stuffy warhammer-knight's tale, the assassins have 'eliminated' that problem. The two main factions in this book are expertly coupled for an engaging and fun page-turner. The voice actor's narrator voice is very good. He also does male character voices well. One female voice was nasally/lispy (to be distinctive I assume), and that one occasionally grated on my ears. But it wasn't a bad performance at all. Overall, job well done by both the author and the voice actor. 🍻

Guy Haley made this one stand out from the other warhammer books. Dulcis (our setting) leapt off the page. perfectly done, as well as the voice acting! the performance really took you there. i only wish there was more.
love the blood angels narrative, excited for more releases!

Volpone Glory covers the exploits of the soldiers of the 50th Volpone of the Royal Volpone Regiment. Their ranks are filled with proud and arrogant soldiers who come from the noble families of Volpone, earning them the name 'Bluebloods' among the Astra Militarum. Nick Kyme breathes life and humility into the members of this otherwise supercilious regiment as they battle against impossible odds.

Character arcs, intersecting: a cut above the norm
Revisado: 01-12-22
What a great book! by the end it was a gripping page turner I didn't want to end. The characters, how they were built up and how they interacted throughout the middle and end was awesome. Great character arcs and interactions between them. honestly, we don't get that kind of quality, or at least I haven't seen it very much, writing in Warhammer 40k novels. I'm hoping for more just like this!
I think this is personal taste, but I like the voice actors voice - much gravitas very talent - yet it was a bit slow? I put the book on 1.35X speed and made sure my bass boost headphones setting was off because he already has plenty, and it was perfect.
well done Nick and Andrew!

i was so sad when Krusha died :(
but it was a glorious death for our simple honest Krusha :)
-
Good book with a slow start but a back two thirds that you won't want to end. all factions written well, uniquely and compellingly. author employs various narrative tools to creatively explore things such as 'bondsman on mechanicus ship' and other niches in wh40k that have been begging for more coverage
Voice actor does a great job of bringing difference in characters to sound with accents i haven't heard as much, very fun, and his american accent is spot on and used on specific characters well. if he could add a few more voices to his repitoir to help listener distinguish characters, he would be a contender for best in the wh40k-verse hands down
Some reviews are unduly harsh on the voices. I agree that it would be better with more variation of voices. But Joe delivers the lines all very well. The voices he has, he can clearly act well with. Obviously he pulled at my heart strings with Krusha haha rip </3
