Historia
I am the bastard prince of the summer court, the lone survivor of my mother’s slaughtered bloodline. Enslaved by her killer, I spend half my days as his emissary in the savage wilds of the Fae Realm, and the other half toiling away in a tattoo studio in the heart of Miami.

This story dealt into all of my favorite parts of inked and shared some of the greatest moments through a different perspective. It was so fun getting to see the world through Zayn’s perspective.

Historia
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

It was fine
Revisado: 03-08-25
Honestly, it was fine. Parts of it felt cliché or generic, while others really stood out. Jason was fine, but he didn’t wow me. The plot was by the far the best part. I know there are several more books, so I am excited to see how the author grows over time.

Book Title: The Lost War
Series: Eidyn Trilogy
Author: Justin Lee Anderson
Narrator: Euan Morton
I want to start by thanking our amazing IFA Leadership for putting on the FantasyCon, I’ve added half a dozen audiobooks to my library just because of this event, this being one of them and the first I finished!
Justin did a phenomenal job bringing this world to life. It’s gritty and real, but not hopeless. The magic is cool and the characters diverse. I enjoyed the subterfuge and little details as much as the grandiose.
Aranok is a great character and I love his journey. It doesn’t hurt that I enjoy a Scottish accent.
All up, I was beyond impressed.
This series will be completed by me!

Whiplash
Revisado: 01-03-25
I was not a fan of the back and forth and lack of steady consistency of this love triangle. I would have preferred a steady pace back into Grims arms rather than this whiplash of “I hate him” “I love him” “I hate him again” it was just not consistent and didn’t feel very authentic.
The plot and story however was good and a nice twist to who the villain really was.

Back, Back Again
Revisado: 10-03-24
What an epic conclusion to this fantastic two part series . It feels like coming home, stepping into this epic adventure once again. The classic fantasy vibes, the good versus evil, trope, light, and dark. It was just fantastic. I will say, I’m not a fan of the audio, it is very slow and choppy. But that did not dissuade me from finishing the story. Melissa did an amazing job with this one and I can’t wait to read more of her stories.

Historia
The adventuring industry drives the economy of Arth, a world much like our own but with more magic and fewer vowels. Monsters' hoards are claimed, bought by corporate interests, and sold off to plunder funds long before the Heroes' Guild actually kills the beasts. Of course, that's a terrible arrangement for the Shadowkin; orcs, goblins, kobolds, and their ilk must apply for to become Noncombatant Paper Carriers (or NPCs) to avoid being killed and looted by heroes.

Revisado: 09-14-24
As a finance major and a lover of fantasy, this scratched an itch on humorously deep level. Also, dwarves are my favorite fantasy race, so +1 star for that alone. The voice acting was superb, had me rolling. And the characters were excellent parodies of dnd.

I loved this look in the world of the djinn!
There was heart and power, and fantastic characters
I do feel like parts were a little flat though, and others very convenient. I give this a 4/5!

Historia
This is the way the world ends...for the last time. It starts with the great red rift across the heart of the world's sole continent, spewing ash that blots out the sun. It starts with death, with a murdered son and a missing daughter. It starts with betrayal, and long dormant wounds rising up to fester. This is the Stillness, a land long familiar with catastrophe, where the power of the Earth is wielded as a weapon. And where there is no mercy.

Interesting, but not for me
Revisado: 08-26-24
The plot was long and drawn out, taking far too long to get to the point. We meandered a whole lot and I honestly felt lost two or three times and wondered why we were even talking about what we were.
