In the ninth installment in the best-selling Mad Mick Series, several months have passed since Walter Lightspeed demonstrated he could restore power to the United States using his innovative wireless power delivery system. After a year in the dark, America was finally on the rebound. Optimism soared as people imagined an end to the most difficult period in modern American history.

Great series, great book

I listen to a bunch of post apocalyptic series, most leave me flat and uninterested as more books are added, not this one! This series and the Borrowed World continue to keep my interest and provide new twists. I cant recommend this book and series enough!

Historia
Captain Liz Clark spent her youth dreaming of traveling the world by sailboat and surfing remote waves. When she was 22, she met a mentor who helped turn her desire into reality. Embarking on an adventure that most only fantasize about, she set sail from Santa Barbara, California, as captain of her 40-foot sailboat, Swell, headed south in search of surf, self, and the wonder and learning that lies beyond the unbroken horizon.

Disappointing,
Revisado: 09-13-22
I was looking for a sailing adventure. What I found was the author's attempt of self discovery laced with environmental opinions and disdain for the Western world. If you are looking for sailing adventure, this is not it. If you are looking for a young lady's attempt of self discovery and can appreciate her very far left environmental and world views, this book is for you. On a positive note, the author/narrator is well spoken and pleasant to listen to. I could not get past her too frequent environmental views, though I do agree with many of them, that is not what I came for.

Historia
Lauren Russell often wondered why her father had been so adamant about teaching her skills that most other fathers wouldn't even consider teaching their daughters. Ever since she was little, she had been taught how to live and survive outdoors, and how to use firearms to protect herself and those around her. Some of the training had been a bit extreme. Or had it been? Many of her questions were answered the day the world as she knew it ended.

Excellent SHTF series!

I am into end of the world, apocalyptic type stuff, this book and series does not disappoint. it is well written, well read (as expected from Kevin Pierce) and has a great story. Most of the situations are believable, you can easily be immersed in the characters and grow to like, or hate, them. I am about half way through the second book and intend on listening to all of them. Highly recommend if you are into this genre!

Awesome!

Great series. My only complaint, I wish it was longer. I was totally engrossed in this from the beginning. The scenario, circumstances, details and characters are very believable, this adds greatly to the book. Fast paced, lots of action with plenty of human emotions.

Gavin de Becker is our nation's best-known expert on the prediction and management of violence. In The Gift of Fear, de Becker draws on his extensive expertise to shatter the myth that most violent acts are random and unpredictable, but rather usually have discernible motives and are preceded by clear warning signs.

Useful content ruined by anti-gun opinions
Revisado: 09-01-19
I can't recommend this book. some good info, but all of it ruined by the author inserting his personal opinions of Americans owning firearms, in particular his rant at the end of the book. This book should have been titled "A Liberal's Guide To Fear"
