An easy listening to a difficult subject

This book is an eye opener on this most complex illness and its affects on the individual and their family. Robert Kolker retraces the progresses and back steps of the medical, social and judicial responses to schizophrenic behaviors from the 1960s to today.
Clear, insightful and always respectful the author brings the lector to the human side too often missed. Thanks to Sean Pratt who is an excellent narrator this audiobook is an easy listening on a difficult subject.

I've waited to master English to start this series. I usually prefer reading to listening but Jim Dale is a wonderful narrator for this now classic British fantasy.

A fine story, wrapped up with a superb narration.

Deeply touching

I downloaded the audible version. There should be a longer pause when the author comes back and forth in time, I often got confused when the narration jumped in time without warning. Otherwise, I enjoyed Rachel Gotto's narration of her traumatic experience, journey through recovery and her perspective on the human psyche.

I think the format is confusing as an audio book. The listening is great but the audio jumps chapters and coming back to a specific scene to very difficult. I would have preferred having the paper book.

Lots of boasting for a bit of History

I picked that book thinking the author would help me understand and love Florida better. Maybe it will, once I digest the content and forget the format.. I have to say that the "Southern red neck boasting" is a bit too much for me, but past that annoying "formality", i discovered a deep respect for the natural Floridian environment that helps me forgive the brutality ot it.
