Richard Chizmar delivers another creepy tale set in Pennsylvania this time. He spins a great story of three college students bonding on a road trip/college assignment. But something during their travels doesn’t seem quite right.

The perfect combo of True Crime and Horror Fiction

Becoming the Boogeyman is the amazing follow-up to Richard Chizmar's Chasing the Boogeyman. This is written in a True Crime style and you will find it very hard to believe it is fiction. Living in Maryland and in the same town where most of the book is set, it is very hard to separate the real from the horror. This is a great story to read after you have made sure all the windows and doors are locked, put another log on the fire, and made sure you have just enough lights on so you know if anyone is lurking in the shadows.

Shakedown by Scott Sigler is everything you want in a Scott Sigler novel - horror, science fiction, humor. He blends it all together into a story that will hit you like a sledgehammer in one moment, pump your fist in the air in another, and rip your heart out. Sigler is like a drug dealer of fiction, once you get your first hit, you keep wanting more.

A lighthearted and simple view into philosophy. A good source for some corny jokes. Although most of them are old, there were a few that I’m saving.

The narration was 100%! Loved it.
I liked the story but there was a lot of world building and a lot of set up with not a lot of action.

Books that have accompanying playlists are pretty damn good. Books that playlists with artists such as Black Flag, Hatebreed, and Johnny Cash have to be awesome. And Failure Rules! delivers. Andrew Thorpe King provides practical advice for everyone. King uses years of experience and hard-learned lessons to hone a list of five essential rules for almost every aspect of life. King makes no guarantees, but he does provide stories from his life and others, such as Henry Rollins and David Goggins. This is definitely worth a listen or a read!

This story is a return to the tale of Gwendy, Castle Rock, and of others, I will not mention. There is so much that is familiar here that I feel like I am wrapped in a cozy, worn sweatshirt and settling down by the fire, but there is something outside the window, waiting. Richard Chizmar and Stephen King combine to form another great story. I hope there is more collaboration like this in the future!
