Enjoyed the narrator
Revisado: 03-29-25
I also enjoyed, of course, the content. This narrator brought Albert’s words to life. This book made me respect Albert Einstein beyond his brilliant mind. It reveals his heart, compassion, and common sense.

Historia
Violet Figg and her sister Trudy have lived a quiet life in Sugar Bend ever since a night forty years ago stole Trudy’s voice and cemented Violet’s role as Trudy’s fierce and loyal protector. Now, Trudy spends her days making sculptures from found objects and speaking via notes written on scraps of paper, while Violet runs their art shop, monitors the bird activity up and down the water, and tries not to think of her one great love she gave up in order to keep her sister safe.

Between the narrator, and the author I felt like my mind was being massaged, and my curiosity with intrigue.

This is the first book I’ve read by Laura Denton. I just finished it and now I’m looking into another one to read. She has a way with words, poetic descriptions that captured me in moments where I found myself sighing.

The story was filled with so many details that I had never realized occurred in our history. The narrators did a beautiful job drawing me in and the story so very well written. I highly recommend reading this novel.

I am speechless after having experienced this book
Revisado: 02-26-22
I was drawn into the lives and times of these characters. After having just finished this novel I must say it is one of the most powerful experiences I’ve had regarding Love, duty, and the depths of human emotion during the trials and tribulations of World War II. So very well done. I am looking forward to reading more of her stories.

Historia
Russka is the story of four families who are divided by ethnicity but united in shaping the destiny of Russia. From a single riverside village situated at one of the country’s geographic crossroads, Russia’s Slav peasant origins are influenced by the Greco-Iranian, Khazar, Jewish, and Mongol invasions. Unified by this one place, the many cultures blend to form a rich and varied tapestry. Rutherfurd’s grand saga is as multifaceted as Russia itself.

The book reads like scenes in an engaging movie. After reading the first two books of Brainrush's Trilogy, my only disappointment was that his third book was not yet within my reach. When I looked on his web sight to find out that book three will be out before the end of the year, I found on his home page, a sample of his audio version of Brainrush 2. Wow! R. C. Bray took me right back into the story again.
