This is one of the UFO books that I would read again. The story is heartfelt and brings a perspective of the phenomenon that is often ignored. The views are not definite but unique and personally compelling. No matter your beliefs, it’s a good read.

Although I respect Michael Newton’s work, I found his books repetitive and even too detailed while not focusing on the total experience of a LBL. It was almost like reading an company’s organizational flow chart. This book however captured different experiences while also including the aspect of a bigger picture. It was inspiring and also insightful.

I had wished this book contained more thought from Dr. N on the validity of his experiences and background on the hypnosis techniques. Some of the stories told by clients seemed deep within me too fanciful or from a perspective that seemed immature from the view of what we consider an afterlife.

Although I loved the Shinning, this book didn’t live up to it’s own reputation. Like Ann Rice’s queen of the damned it jumped around too much to become invested in any characters or the story in general. Like Ann, Stephen has done better.
