Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Historia
Fueled by a powerful curiosity - and by a need to see, feel, and hear, firsthand and close-up - Michael Crichton's journeys have carried him into worlds diverse and compelling - swimming with mud sharks in Tahiti, tracking wild animals through the jungle of Rwanda. This is a record of those travels - an exhilarating quest across the familiar and exotic frontiers of the outer world, a determined odyssey into the unfathomable, spiritual depths of the inner world.

Very good book and very fascinating the way it went through of michael crichton's expeditions and gave all that info from his perspective, since I guess it was drawn from essentially diary. Entries by him. I was blown away to find out that the first copyright was nineteen fifty eight.

Historia
Despite being hailed as one of the best guitarists of his era, George Harrison, particularly in his early decades, battled feelings of inferiority. He was often the butt of jokes from his bandmates owing to his lower-class background and, typically, was allowed to contribute only one or two songs per Beatles album out of the dozens he wrote.

Historia
Meanwhile, Gillan McArdle’s academic career is ending because of one stupid lapse of judgement. Offered a short-term contract, he lands on the Hebridean island of Harris to investigate obscure animal bones. Quickly dismissing the unicorn skull as a thinly disguised fake, he can’t deny there’s something unusual about these bones. Baited by rumors of a majestic tusked horse roaming the uplands, Gill begins to suspect someone is manipulating him. As he gradually unravels the mystery of the skull, he grasps a disturbing conclusion: If this creature does exist, the evidence suggests it’s a killer.

the incredibly slow pace of the book and the lack of high points. I stuck with it till the end.
Revisado: 11-01-24
I loved the story idea and I had Great hopes for it becoming something complicated and interesting and otherworldly. or even inner worldly would have been great, but it plotted on without payoff. when things finally started happening at the end it did a very predictable simple flip to close everything out by laying the responsibility for the closure on God. good grief! had that been somewhere else in the book and had more tangible things occurred woven into the story it would have been fine but that was horrible that was a cheater way to end a book. no imagination.

The City Watch needs men! But what it's got includes Corporal Carrot (technically a dwarf), Lance-Constable Cuddy (really a dwarf), Lance-Constable Detritus (a troll), Lance-Constable Angua (a woman...most of the time) and Corporal Nobbs (disqualified from the human race for shoving). And they need all the help they can get, because someone in Ankh-Morpork has been getting dangerous ideas - about crowns and legendary swords and destiny.

written so intelligently and so perfectly! the most satisfying book and it was perfectly narrated.
Revisado: 06-02-24
if only a person could just pick up a book and have it meet this level of quality and you didn't have to hunt for them over and over again. unfortunately that isn't true but fortunately Terry Pratchett is brilliant and he is given us so many wonderful wonderful books and I have to say this one and guards guards guards! are my favorites. maybe I just love the guards! this whole Disc world is the only world building book series I have ever tolerated because I think all the rest of them are bull blank! Most are just written to make things detailed so you get a longer book forget that. and I don't want to learn a bunch of stupid squirrely names! this is like the reader just dropped into a weird family and I loved it! good health, happiness, and many more books Terry Pratchett!.

A puzzling series of dental explosions beginning in the 19th century is just one of many strange tales that have long lain undiscovered in the pages of old medical journals. Award-winning medical historian Thomas Morris delivers one of the most remarkable, cringe-inducing collections of stories ever assembled.

Revisado: 04-03-24
I've listened to other books on earlier medical practices and treatments and always enjoyed those. I have to say, it blows my mind how many things people will do to themselves with no clue that it's a dumb idea! it's just hard to imagine even way back then that no common sense could be found! very entertaining on multiple levels.

The mission ended in disaster when their ship, the Rolvaag, foundered in a vicious storm in the Antarctic waters and broke apart, sinking - along with its unique cargo - to the ocean floor. One hundred and eight crew members perished, and Eli Glinn was left paralyzed.

absence of credible behaviors on the part of most of the characters.
Revisado: 02-13-24
there were no particular characters to get attached to. I don't know if that's character development or not but I really didn't care if they died at the end. if I'm the only one who noticed that they all could have taken turns watching each other sleep in the beginning so they could delay the onset of fatigue, then I'm feeling bad about the reading audience. dialogue was meh, made me long for the science that speckles its way through pendergast novels. this one this book itself should have been rolling in real science but honestly it didn't. narration was flat to me, and that was sort of the cherry on top. skip it if you ask me.

Historia
Ten years ago, Craig Johnson wrote his first short story, the Hillerman Award-winning "Old Indian Trick". This was one of the earliest appearances of the sheriff who would go on to star in Johnson’s best-selling, award-winning novels and the A&E hit series Longmire. Each Christmas Eve thereafter, fans rejoiced when Johnson sent out a new short story featuring an episode in Walt’s life that doesn’t appear in the novels; over the years, many have asked why they can’t buy the stories in book form.

My favorite Longmire book!
Revisado: 08-14-23
I listen to all of the Longmire series once through completely and I'm starting over again because there just isn't anything like it available. I've read and listened to others that are in the similar Western law enforcement national Park sort of mindset but the quality of the writing just can't touch Craig Johnson's. this story is the best for me because it has everything in it and I did have to listen to it twice because on the second go around I heard things I never heard the first time. highly highly recommended.
