the stuff about me Lufthansa Heist is interesting it goes a little more in depth than Goodfellas does. with exception of that Henry Hill is a lying jackass. the way he describes speaking with FBI agents like he was telling them stories they couldn't even imagine or flat-out lying that he was almost killed when he was on his way to court with Federal agents. and he's obnoxious as hell

This guy is the Forrest Gump of the mafia. Everything happend in front of him or because of him. If this was listed as fiction it would be a great book. Sadly it's not and you're supposed to believe all of his BS. If you go in knowing you're going to be lied to for a few hours it might be enjoyable.

I'm a big fan of all of Jeff perlman's books. I was a teenager when this Cowboys team was relevant and my dad was a huge fan so I watched every game that I could. it's fascinating hearing all the turmoil and Insanity underneath one of the few dynasties in the nfl. been hearing about how it all fell apart is just astounding

This book was headed towards a four-star rating at work and then it went off the rails. the only thing mysterious about the book to me was why I didn't just throw my phone out the window the last hour. it had such potential until the end but then it was like an Oprah giveaway. you get a killer and you get a killer and you get a killer and you get a killer and then when you find out you get a kick in the stomach

The Smith family..... Well they're much better people than I could ever hope to be. The killer Larry Gene Bell is easily the most obnoxious criminals I've ever heard. The story will annoy you because he thought he was so smart and was just a pathetic loser. The story of tracking him down is amazing. John Douglas is always a great read. You won't regret this one.

the first I'd say 25% maybe a little more was actually about the Salem witch trials. and it was fascinating and extremely interesting. then seemingly out of nowhere it just started talking about religion which was a little aggravating because he's already done a book with heavy religious themes. this one and his previous book are not his best work. have they stuck with facts about the Salem witch trials and obviously the religious tone of the time has a lot to do with it that would have been fine. but if I wanted a history of religion there are other books with much better material. the narrator is great as always but this one was a big big let down. hopefully Mr O'Reilly gets back to the killing kennedy, killing lincoln, and at this point it may be wishing for too much but the killing patent style of books.

I was worried about Holly Gibney being able to carry a entire book as the main character. I actually really enjoyed her being the main character. The story seemed so interesting when I'd read previews. Sadly after about an hour you pretty much know how this one will end. The story had the Robinson family (Jerome and Barb) those are great characters and I really enjoyed bard being a large focus of the story. The narrator did a great job having not a distinctive voice for each character but doing a good job differentiating them. without sounding outlandish or stupid like some do.

unfortunately this book seemed a little too political for me talking about covid-19 and people in their insane conspiracies. if they could have had a little bit less of that I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more.

at first I was hoping it would go into the story of the minor leagues itself a little more but the more I listened the more I enjoyed hearing about a particular team in a city and how that minor league team impacts the town and the people in it. I live in a town that has a triple A team and it reminded me of going to the games as a kid when he was talking about the plastic helmets filled with ice cream

This book could have been amazing. Scott Brick as always was GREAT but this was basically history rewritten with a Godfather slant. A few things were changed but 8nstea dof having fun with it they decided to stick to the "facts"

If you're a fan of how the NBA used to be played or remember the NBA in the 80s and 90s you'll probably enjoy this book. If you're a Boston Celtics fan you'll LOVE this book. Some of the stories you've heard a thousand times but they're still enjoyable. hearing Dan Shaughnessy do an impression of Bill Walton it's a good enough reason to use a credit for this book.
