I write because I feel the reviews demonstrate the lack of knowledge people have concerning mental illnesses and CPS practices. I was a CPS investigator for 15 years. Chapter 60 is the right and accurate ending for this story and the author's accuracy makes me wonder about her life. I had children with "attachment disorder" as well as some with psychotic tendencies. The vast majority end up as extremely narcissistic and often wealthy and politicians as they are too smart to break the law but care nothing for others except how to use them for gain. However I had two "evil" children like the one in this book. These are the Ted Bundy's. I remember one who ended up in a good facility just like Jamie. They must be released at 18 unless they have been charged as criminals for some crime. That depends on wether the state will charge minors. This child immediately obtained a gun and car from a supportive family member like Christopher and drove to a 7/11 and robbed and killed the worker because as Jamie he liked to see people hurt and he "wanted food". While this severity is rare, I found the book very well researched and quite accurate.

I liked that Mary felt that she was warning the nation about the fact that she thinks Donald is a threat to our nation and future. But I feel that the death of her father squews her conclusions to a large degree. I agree that Donald is unethical, possibly has some mental illnesses, but that's been publicized many times. She doesn't clearly explain what he offers that got him elected once and possibly again. let's look at the number of Trumps in the family. She states that the older Fred and Donald are the bad guys. But they're 4 other siblings besides Donald. They each have spouses, children and grandchildren who Mary claims Fred controled with two powers - money and the desire for approval. That's 2 people against at least 16 other family members. I too was abused and attempted to be controled with money and the need for love. But the Trump's family had access to information, education, and each other's support. I also got a degree like Mary's from UCLA, but was an only child had no family support like the Trumps had We all make our own life's choices. I can only speculate, but they could have reached out to each other for support and love, and the main power the older Fred used was greed. If some of the rest of the family had joined Mary to a sincere degree, Donald would have been exposed earlier. If Mary was as repulsed by Donald as she claims, why would she have agreed to write a book for him - other than for money? I believe there are just so many unanswered questions that need to be addressed.

I liked the way the detectives profiled the murderer, the character Books, and the performance. I tried the book as it was free, but it was hard to finish as Emmy was not likeable, and it was so long. Also, though I won't reveal it in the review, they gave away the ending so there was not a surprise. I also was an investigator with training on domestic violence, which made the plot even more illogical. However I really appreciate that there are free audios in addition to using my credits.

I love and appreciate the free audios. This is a famous story I have heard and seen before. I struggled with the awful acting, then stayed out of curiosity to see just how bad it would get. I do not recommend this to anyone.

I disliked the confusing way the story was presented. It was too difficult to understand who was real, the time sequence, her seemingly illogical approach to handling the situation, and finally not returning to the original question, who were her grandparents. I only finished it listening while cleaning house as it was free and of short duration. The only point to it seems to be some sort of anxiety reduction for the author.

Sometimes the pseudo science goes too far and the escapes too long. What is interesting is the way the bots gain more and more human values and feel emotions but make fun of human emotion at the same time. Looking forward to the continuation of this series.

My favorite thing was ART. It is hard not to fall in love with a being (or artificial being) who with the use of logic develops a solution for every challenge, and has a sly sense of humor you learn to spot. Characters have some weak spots, especially identifying, human vs robot vs mixed normal behaviors. As this is

I liked the concept of beings that were all human, part human, part droid, all droid, and evolving. The idea was of interest but the details were often vague enough to detract from the plot progress. Would help to have a short history of how and why this society developed. I will read the next and see how it progresses.

The narrator often mixed up the voices of the characters. The character were rude to each other and did incompetent police work. Since I went to Catholic schools as a child, I found the portrayal of the cruel treatments of children as believable. It didn't happen in every school, but definitely in some. I would not read another one in that series, but other novels might be better.
