Historia
In Campfire Stories: Narrow Escapes & More Close Calls, storytellers take us from Florida to the Northern Rockies to the Arctic Ocean with wild and true stories, a reminder that the natural world is rugged and unpredictable. Including stories from Steven Rinella and Clay Newcomb, and spearfishing champion Kimi Werner, this immersive audio collection also features tales from listeners who survived falling through the ice, gunshot and arrowhead wounds, hand-to-hoof combat with a deer, and a spearfisherman who made the best shot of his life to save a friend from certain death.

Real life stories of survival in critical moments.
Revisado: 08-18-24
I love this series of books. As someone who spends time outdoors with my family, it is both relatable and informing to hear of times where things didn't go quite as planned. Hearing the determination amd fortitude of others in dire circumstances is inspiring. If the story tellers can survive the experiences told in this book and the others in this series, some of the more minor inconveniences of our days feel a lot less deterministic.

Historia
Over 12,000 helicopters were used in the Vietnam War, which is why it became known as "The Helicopter War". Almost half of the helicopters, 5,086, were lost. This memoir describes first-hand the harrowing experiences of helicopter pilots and crews in combat operations, from the far South to the DMZ, including the infamous Ashau Valley, Hamburger Hill, LZ Airborne, and others. 19 Minutes to Live illustrates the incredible courage and determination of helicopter pilots and crews supporting those heroes that carried a rucksack and a rifle in Vietnam.

Vietnam helicopter pilots tell their stories.
Revisado: 06-06-22
This is a great collection of experiences from one U.S. Army helicopter pilot in Vietnam told through his and other soldiers own words. The highly descriptive style of the story telling builds an image in your minds eye that puts you in the action.

Be prepared to expand your TBR list.
Revisado: 05-12-22
This is a book for anyone who reads books on leadership topics. The recommendations in this book are well vetted. The synopsys given of each title gives the reader enough information to decide which title to seek out without taking away from the experience of actually reading the book. Checking this one off my TBRL just added dozens more.

Fantastic collection of personal survival stories!
Revisado: 12-01-21
The book is packed with a great variety of first-hand, near-death experiences. Detailed descriptions of how the story tellers came to and through their predicaments and what lead to their survival. Also included are first-responder accounts of harrowing acts to save others. All stories have the backdrop of wilderness or nature exploration that make them highly resonant. I will be listening to this again!

Historia
The virus now known as Stuxnet was unlike any other piece of malware built before: Rather than simply hijacking targeted computers or stealing information from them, it proved that a piece of code could escape the digital realm and wreak actual, physical destruction—in this case, on an Iranian nuclear facility.

Interesting, but becomes repetitive.
Revisado: 03-23-21
The story of this historical event is very interesting. The writer does a good job of making the technical information understandable. The style of story telling becomes a little repetitive and starts to sound like a string theory near end as events continue to get recounted from every conceivable vantage point.
