Historia
Scarlett Vandermeer is swimming upstream. A Junior at Stanford and a student-athlete who specializes in platform diving, Scarlett prefers to keep her head down, concentrating on getting into med school and on recovering from the injury. She has no time for relationships. Swim captain, world champion, all-around aquatics golden boy Lukas Blomqvist thrives on discipline. It’s how he wins gold medals and breaks records: complete focus, with every stroke. On the surface, Lukas and Scarlett have nothing in common. Until a well-guarded secret slips out, and everything changes.

Good but not that spicy
Revisado: 03-20-25
Story was very enjoyable. The narrator did a great job. However, for the main couple supposedly being super into BDSM and sub/dom activities. The actual romance scenes in the book are extremely tame and don’t really give off that intense vibe. If you have never read a romance novel with that type of theme it probably won’t shock or annoy you. I’m used to reading Kresley Cole or Christina Lauren novels. So this “BDSM” was kind of a joke compared to that. I took off a star because to me the scenes were far too tame to even be considered BDSM. But other than that I enjoyed everything else about the book.

Clark Griswold was onto something...at least with his annual holiday meltdown. And since the last three weeks of my life have been riddled with humbug—another breakup, a broken toe, an office promotion I deserved and didn’t get—I’m not at all in the mood to celebrate nor have the happ, happ, happiest Christmas EVER.

Wonderful Story!

I can’t count how many times I have read and re-read this book. The entire series is a great read but this final book in the series is hands down my favorite. The authors did an amazing job ending the series on such a great note and Pippa and Jenson’s characters were so relatable and a real joy to read about. I highly recommend this book and series to anyone who needs a new series to devour!

Ok but has some issues
Revisado: 11-13-21
The love story between the two main characters is fairly decent. However, my problem with the story is that it was clearly written by someone who doesn’t understand Alaska. I was born in this state and have lived here my entire life. No self respecting Alaskan would ever refer to a snow machine as a “snow mobile”. That phrasing is very likely to get you laughed out of literally anywhere. Or mocked heavily for being a lower 48er. There was also some annoying mispronunciation of our cities. As well as a robotic delivery from the narrator. Also, the “long distance” the characters struggle with is like a 30-45 minute drive apart. In this state people commute longer than that every single day. Plenty of doctors do that as well because of the cost of living close to the hospitals here. If the main characters were people who moved here I could understand their issues as being more relatable. But ALL of these characters have supposedly spent their entire lives growing up in Alaska. Therefor, driving long distances would not be a problem for them because all of us are used to it. This makes the main issues they face difficult to believe. Overall, it was an ok read I just wish the author would have taken a little more time to do their research. Considering most of these places are real and it sets the entire scene for her story. Now if you don’t live in Alaska I doubt these issues and inaccuracies would bother you as a reader as much as it did me.
