His father has succumbed to a life of drinking, and the young man has no option but to take over the job of gravedigger. But Farin’s life takes a dramatic twist when the village witch dies. As he prepares her for burial, he finds an amulet hanging around her neck, and he can’t resist trying it on.

Historia
When Lenodara the Hawkmaiden - Dara, to her friends - was made an apprentice to the foremost wizard in the world, Minalan the Spellmonger, Magelord of her native land of Sevendor, she thought that the adventurous life was behind her. She looked forward to a long, boring career of learning how to read and taking magic lessons...but Dara’s life as the Spellmonger’s new apprentice is anything but boring!

Loved it

Me. man our, please keep writing and I will keep buying. Re-writing the storyline from the perspective of previously secondary characters was brilliant.

A Hilarious Guilty Pleasure
Revisado: 05-27-16
I love this series and look forward to further installments. If you like slap-stick comedy, or
Id you ever played D&D or similar RPGs, you should devour these books. They make me laugh so hard I cry. The only downside is that I have to listen with earbuds or after the kids are asleep, because the language and misadventures are so raunchy (which is also an indispensable part of the stories' appeal).

Historia
What happens when the haggling is done and the shops are closed? When the quest has been given, the steeds saddled, and the adventurers are off to their next encounter? They keep the world running, the food cooked, and the horses shoed, yet what adventurer has ever spared a thought or concern for the Non-Player Characters? In the town of Maplebark, four such NPCs settle in for a night of actively ignoring the adventurers drinking in the tavern when things go quickly and fatally awry.

The Enlisted Version of Ramage, Hornblower. And Auvrey
Revisado: 06-14-15
I have avidly consumed the Aubrey/Maturin series, the Ramage series, and the Hornblower series. This opening book promises something similar, but is critically different insofar as the protagonist is a pressed "foremast Jack," rather than the captain (or cimmander). I enjoyed this book and, as in the Hirnblower series, Rodska was an excellent narrator.

Please do not wait long before the next installment. And please retain Reynolds as your narrator.
This series is unlike anything else because it takes the best of everything else.
