Couldn’t put it down!
Revisado: 05-21-24
I’m not usually a fan of sequels they try too hard. This story was just as interesting as the first the characters are rich and the plot interesting. I was hooked!

Historia
I entered into a bargain—choosing my mate over my freedom. But I underestimated the crowned prince who took me. His touch like venom. His vengeance lethal. He craves a power I no longer hold, and he’ll sacrifice every part of me until he gets it. But I don’t belong to him. I belong to his brother. His brother who will come for me, consequences be damned. My fate is entangled between two princes—one who craves my power, the other who covets me—and I have more to lose than I ever imagined.

Captivating and steamy
Revisado: 03-13-24
The story does well on its own. I love the interaction of the characters and navigating all of the relationships. The steamy love scenes are a plus! Great adult read.

astounding and devastating
Revisado: 08-05-22
Ok i’ll admit it. I wasn’t expecting much from this book. It was supposed to be a little distraction between my usual reads. But wow! I found myself absolutely engrossed. The performance was believable but not obnoxious and the story had me regretting bedtime like a kid. I was reeling through emotions when i realized expected no more than a quick skim.
I might even give it another listen!

Historia
When editor Susan Ryeland is given the manuscript of Alan Conway's latest novel, she has no reason to think it will be much different from any of his others. After working with the best-selling crime writer for years, she's intimately familiar with his detective, Atticus Pünd, who solves mysteries disturbing sleepy English villages. An homage to queens of classic British crime such as Agatha Christie and Dorothy Sayers, Alan's traditional formula has proved hugely successful.

i immediately fell in love with the sherlock like character, Mr. Pundt and was happily surprised with the Second mystery. I was thoroughly entertained and my husband even caught me conversing with the book a few times. Absolutely a must read! i may even read it again.

shock, suspense, surprise!
Revisado: 06-09-22
The story it was not slow to develop I really enjoyed that but it did stay in the suspense stage for a very long time which caused a bit of anxiety. I was really ready to give up until the story started to unfold. When the ending started to reveal itself I was very confident and comfortable with where it all landed but then chapter 58! Oh my goodness I was not ready! Everything I thought I knew instantly flipped on its head! And I’m sick with worry all over again. I will not drop any spoilers. I’ll only say it is a must read and yes it’s a little tedious but stick it out I promise you will not regret it!

not terrible but certainly not effortless
Revisado: 05-18-22
A wonderful story great concept really interesting read but terribly slow and sometimes difficult to keep interest. The time shifts were not seamless or easy to keep up with and sometimes it was a bit confusing. There were quite a few repetitive phrases but I don’t think it was lazy writing so much as trying too hard for an authentic conversation style. I don’t think anyone I know has ever said “well yes” or “yes well” that many times in their life.
overall slightly predictable but not terribly disappointing. I wouldn’t call it a thriller as I wasn’t on the edge of my seat but I also didn’t want to put it down So it must’ve at least been a page turner.

Another masterpiece
Revisado: 04-22-21
Once again beautifully written. This author is truly amazing. I was transported through time and space. I laughed, I cried, I felt true anger... absolutely wonderful. I was taken aback at first by the performance. Not to discredit Ms. Reading, I’d simply gotten used to how Anna and Sophie sounded in “The Gilded Hour”.
But Ms. Readings’ performance was captivating as usual. I can’t wait for the next book!
Well done!
