Loved hearing a great story from the author
Revisado: 09-26-24
Honest, inspiring story from start to finish. Loved Michael ‘s commentary on some key Seinfeld episodes, hearing about his “craft”and his process for getting into the character of Kramer. Learning about Michael’s life challenges reminded me that we’re all not that different from each other, and his healing process and the resulting growth provide hope to the reader. His narration is top notch!

Historia
Tom Lowe’s identity and his pride are invested in the work he does with his back and his hands. He designed and built his family’s dream home, working extra hours to pay off the adjustable rate mortgage he took on the property, convinced he is making every sacrifice for the happiness of his wife and son. Until, in a moment of fatigued inattention, shingling a roof in too-bright sunlight, he falls. In constant pain, addicted to painkillers at the cost of his relationships with his wife and son, Tom slowly comes to realize that he can never work again.

Moving story of real life transformation
Revisado: 09-03-23
A heartwarming, lesson-oriented portrayal of a man, expertly narrated by the author. Andre paints the picture of what it’s like to live with hardships—financial, physical, emotional. While difficult to read at times, it allowed me to connect to the essence of humanity, to people, all people, sort of the way Tom Lowe , Jr. was able to do. My book club had a great, deep discussion about the book.

Historia
In this honest, layered and unforgettable book that alternates between storytelling and her own poetry, Pamela Anderson breaks the mold of the celebrity memoir while taking back the tale that has been crafted about her. Her blond bombshell image was ubiquitous in the 1990s. Discovered in the stands of a football game, she was immediately rocket launched into fame, becoming Playboy’s favorite cover girl and an emblem of Hollywood glamour and sexuality. But what happens when you lose grip on your own life—and the image the notoriety machine creates for you is not who you really are?

It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Revisado: 01-31-23
This is a thoughtful, well-written (and spoken) look into a young man’s life—challenges, triumphs, disappointments and everything in-between. I feel for Harry. It’s inspiring to read how he broke off whether by choice or not, and forged a new path. His mum must be proud! I both loved the ending and didn’t want it to end. ❤️

Wonderful way to learn history from a family’s view
Revisado: 01-04-22
I’m not the type to sit down and read an history book from start to finish. This book reads like a novel and endeared me to the family immediately.
When reading about history one often learns about the big picture—battles, numbers, deaths. This book takes you to the micro level, the family level.
I was touched by the family’s story of perseverance and survival as well as the lasting effect of the atrocities on descendants for generations. As a result, I feel deep compassion on a whole new level for all who suffered during the despicable acts of WWII.
The author’s voice was soothing and warm and conveyed the strength of her family in a beautiful and authentic way and with lessons for all.
