Historia
Hunting for big bad wolves was never part of Agent Cooper Dayton's plan, but a werewolf attack lands him in the carefully guarded Bureau of Special Investigations. A new case comes with a new partner: ruggedly sexy werewolf Oliver Park. Park is an agent of The Trust, a werewolf oversight organization working to ease escalating tensions with the BSI. But as far as Cooper's concerned, it's failing. As they investigate a series of mysterious deaths unlike anything they've seen, every bone in Cooper's body is suspicious of his new partner....

Revisado: 04-10-25
The Wolf at The Door is a flawed, yet decent read. It has great pacing, and is lean with no bloat. Unfortunately it is a little too lean, lacking any real B plot, other than romance. It feels like maybe there had been more to this book that was cut, as there are a few plot points that are simply left unresolved. Not in a setting up a sequel way, more like the author forgot to tell us way. For a book with such wolffish theming, I was expecting a lot more werewolf. The werewolves could have been easily replaced with any other creature that can appear human (vampires, zombies, mermaids, robots, etc), and the plot would not have changed. We never even see Park in wolf form, and it felt tell not show.
Despite the romantic subplot seemingly being this book’s biggest draw, the climax is the conclusion to the mystery plot. Which was a good choice as the mystery is the strongest part of the book and the reason I finished it. There are some fun, though not very complex twists. And it had me wondering what the resolution was going to be. Though the final moments of catching the culprit were little short, and a bit too easy. Still a well done mystery, and much more interesting than the romance.
The romance between the leads is… fine. There are some cute moments and the sex scenes are well written, but good line by line writing can’t make up for a boring love interest. Park is handsome, caring and protective, but lacks anything to balance that out. He has no flaws, and with a book where the romance takes up a good portion of it, that’s not gong to work. Cooper, on the other hand, is very well written. He’s caring, but cynical. Has trust issues but it’s not portrayed as cool quirk, instead it’s a flaw that keeps him deeply lonely. I enjoyed reading from Cooper’s perspective really wish he had a romantic partner who was on his level of fleshed out.
The editing and sentence structure of The Wolf at The Door is great. But the editing of the audio is poor. It’s obvious that different parts were recorded afterwards and edited back in, pulling you out of the story every time the narrator shifts between takes for a paragraph before shifting back again.
Overall this book was ok. It’s definitely worth a read if you don’t think about it much and just put it on as you do something else. But it’s not something I’ll be thinking about long after.

Historia
I always believed I could analyze any situation until I found a solution. Solve any problem if I just applied my brain. I went to university, studied science, and told myself my academic cocoon would protect me from the alphas dominating our society. I was wrong. No textbook prepared me for my meeting with test subject 351. The biggest, scariest alpha on death row hauled into my lab to uncover how to control the beast of a man. But there is no controlling the feral alpha, and no logic strong enough to save my mind once he unleashes his fury on my body.

just porn, and not even that good.
Revisado: 10-24-24
too short, no character development and paper thin “plot.” It ends way too soon, as in the porn isn’t even over when it ends.

You'd think being abducted by aliens would be the worst thing that could happen to me. And you'd be wrong. Because now, the aliens are having ship trouble, and they've left their cargo of human women - including me - on an ice planet. And the only native inhabitant I've met? He's big, horned, blue, and really, really has a thing for me....

Fun, light hearted, and ends too soon.
Revisado: 10-23-24
Great pacing, but lacks line by line flavor. The characters are 1 dimensional but so is the story so it fits. Overall a fun read, but it feels like the first half of a book rather than a full story.

Historia
Cutthroat political consultant Thom Morgan is thriving, working on the governor of California’s presidential campaign. If only he didn’t have to deal with Clay Parker, the infuriatingly smug data analyst who gets under Thom’s skin like it’s his job. In the midst of one of their heated and very public arguments, a journalist snaps a photo, but the image makes it look like they’re kissing. As if that weren’t already worst-nightmare territory, the photo goes viral—and in a bid to secure the liberal vote, the governor asks them to lean into it. Hard.

All A plot no B
Revisado: 06-14-24
I read to the 3/4 mark and couldn’t make myself finish it. There is no character growth, and no stakes. The book is 100% A plot (the romance) and nothing else of interest. Overall felt like it wanted to just be a fetish book but didn’t want to commit to it.

great book, robot read
Revisado: 10-10-17
It took me some time to realize the reader of this book was not a robot. Or was it? Excellent story and I missed hearing the subtle tonal changes such a book required for an audio book.
