Cute and quick listen. It's a novella, so things move quickly and there isn't a ton of character development, but I enjoyed all the book lover references and mentions of food. I definitely wanted to bake something after listening to this one! Andrew Eiden and Eva Kaminsky both gave wonderful performances. Overall, an enjoyable audiobook, but not one that I will likely remember down the road.

Quick and cute novella! I liked the set up for the rescue mix up meet cute/disaster and the solution to co-parent Zeus. It’s not something I think would work in real life, but it was fun for this story. ;) There wasn’t much to the plot after that, but I liked the narration by Marissa Hampton and Chinua Hawk and this was an easy listen.

This was a fun fake dating romance and I really enjoyed the narration by Andi Arndt. I loved that Riley was a romance author and how that played into the overall story. Connor was sweet (the food!), but all the small town drama, as well as the issues with his ex and his mom were a lot. It was the drama at the end though that nearly tanked this one for me. Even the resolution felt forced and without that epilogue, I would have wondered if these two actually made it.

This was a really quick and steamy brother's best friend romance novella. I enjoyed the narration by Aiden Snow and Ava Lucas, but the plot overall wasn't the best. It did help though that it wasn't totally instalove since things started from a childhood crush. I just wish Heath hadn't been such a coward about telling the truth. Even when things were revealed, it was by accident and not because he decided to stop keeping secrets.

Note: I didn't read the first book in this series and didn't feel lost. From what I can tell, the timelines for all 3 novellas overlap. I don't love the tropes for the other 2 books in the series though, so I think this will be it for me and the Holiday Brothers.

This was an entertaining enemies-ish to lovers romance. The narration by Kelsey Navarro was wonderful and it was a quick read/listen. The build up between Thomas and Mac was really well done and I loved seeing them verbally spar and banter. It was pretty clear where things were headed, but it was still fun to see the tropes play out (like forced proximity, workplace, starchy/grumpy + sunshine, opposites attract, friends with benefits, etc). Unfortunatley, the third act break up really annoyed me (even though I knew it was going to happen) and I wish it had been left out all together. It would have been much more satisfying to have the characters actually talk and listen to each other like the adults they're supposed to be. The ending was cute though and I loved the little reveal at the very end. Overall, an enjoyable read, but not my favorite by Lauren Layne.

I don't read cowboy romances all that often, but I knew I needed to read this one after so many friends recommended it to me. This was such a great steamy slow burn, enemies-ish to lovers romance!

The narration by Stephen Dexter and Lila Winters was fantastic! I loved their accents and the different voices they used to differentiate characters. Their enthusiastic performances during the sexy times left me fanning myself and I definitely recommend enjoying this one on audio if you have the chance.

Things to expect in Cash:
- enemies-ish to lovers
- small town romance
- fish out of water
- slow burn
- forced proximity
- grumpy + sunshine
- "mine"
- breeding kink
- sexy times outside the bedroom
- no third act break up (yay for characters who talk to each other!)

This was such a great start to the series and I'm really looking forward to Wyatt's book next - especially after that ending! ;)

CW: death of parent (past), grief, financial concerns, pregnancy scare

Normally I’m not a fan of instalove, but after the week we’ve had, I was all for it. Plus, the audio is narrated by my favorite Jason Clarke (as well as Virginia Rose) and I really needed something happy.

Cal is feral for Stella from page 1 and when I say he comes on really strong, that doesn’t even describe how far gone he is for her. It was a little jarring to have him go from sweet and adoring Cal to dirty talking, leave bite marks on you Cal, but again I just went with it and enjoyed the ride. The majority of the angst in the story focuses on Stella’s resistance to relationships, but overall I wouldn’t consider this one very angsty (which I appreciated). Definitely listen to the audio if you have a chance!

Cheezus I Loved This Book!

Cheezus I loved this book! The hilarious and witty banter, the playful innuendo and flirting, and of course the smoking sexy times made for the perfect book! Good Boy is the first book in the new WAGs series. It features characters from other books by the writing duo of Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy, but can be read as a standalone.

Blake is a character that you will find immensely amusing and loveable, or extremely annoying and immature. I clearly found him adorable. He comes across as a cocky and wisecracking jock, but underneath, he's a loyal, protective, and huggable teddy bear. His inner monologue was some of the funniest I have ever read and I had a perpetual grin on my face reading this book. Jess is also an amazing heroine who really grows through the course of the book. Her struggle with her confidence and her drive to go after her dreams was realistic and heartfelt. Haven't we all felt a little lost and less than at one point or another? The chemistry between Blake and Jess was amazing and I loved how they each kept each other in check and could be both playful and serious with each other. They may not have started their relationship in the most conventional way, but I loved how it all unfolded. Another thing that made this book really enjoyable were the awesome secondary characters (Wesmie!) and that there wasn't any unnecessary additional drama (yay for no third act break up!) The narration by Teddy Hamilton and Tanya Eby was fantastic! Teddy really captured Blake's playful side and their voices complemented each other well. Truly a fantastic read, and I can't wait for the next book, Stay!

This was a great start to a new series! Fans of the best friend’s sibling and it’s always been you tropes will devour this one. Seriously, the pining is next level! It’s also probably the most unconventional single parent romance I’ve read. The setup for it didn’t make the most sense, but I thought Ford was a cute dad regardless.

I liked Rosie and Ford, but I wasn’t totally sold on their connection. I think this had a lot to do with Rosie’s relationship status for a big chunk of the book (please see OW/OM notes). I wish that hadn’t lasted as long as it did, but I appreciated that once the dust settled, the rest of the story was relatively drama free. What does come up towards the end isn’t over the top and I would consider this one third act break up free.

I mainly listened to the audiobook and Vanessa Edwin and Zachary Webber were wonderful. Truly such a great narrating duo and I liked that the emails were read duet style. Definitely recommend this on audio if you have a chance to listen.

CW: sexual harassment (on page), emotional cheating, death of parent (past), grief, depression, cheating ex (past)

Possible Spoilers OW/OM notes:

FMC has a boyfriend and lived with him prior to coming back to Rose Hill. She is still technically dating him when she begins to have feelings for the MMC.
Unconventional single parent set up - MMC donated sperm when he was younger and his 12 year old biological daughter seeks him out to ask for help following the death of her father. It’s more like a temporary guardianship while her mom takes care of her own mental health/grieves.

I'm not sure why, but Zed and Dani's book just didn't fully work for me. I loved Zed in the previous book, but I felt pretty bored this time around. I didn't connect with either character and the rift plot line wasn't as compelling. There were certainly sweet and funny moments, but overall this was a miss for me. The narration kept me listening though and Amanda Ronconi and Jonathan Davis were wonderful again (even if I didn't love Zed's accent in general).
