Historia
Fight is the backstage story of bloodsport politics in its rawest form—the clawing, backstabbing, and rabble-rousing that drove Donald Trump into the White House and Democrats into the wilderness. At every turn, the combatants went for the jugular, whether they were facing down rivals in the other party or their own.

I appreciate journalists who can stick to the facts. Few can. Few seem to even try. This book is great.

Historia
Since September 11, 2001, the Western world has been preoccupied with Islam and its role in terrorism. Yet, public debate about the faith is polarized. One camp praises "the religion of peace", while the other claims all Muslims are terrorists. Canadian human rights activist Yasmine Mohammed believes both sides are dangerously wrong. In Unveiled: How Western Liberals Empower Radical Islam, Yasmine speaks her truth as a woman born in the Western world yet raised in a fundamentalist Islamic home. Despite being a first-generation Canadian, she never felt at home in the West.

Why insult faith in God?
Revisado: 01-06-25
The story is excellent, but the author would do better by refraining from insulting faith in God. She refers to sky daddies and fairies and other such terms, and belittles religion. I know of many, many women -- often highly educated -- who have suffered under religion and social systems but escape and flourish and tell of happy, victorious living through a mature faith in God.

Transparent and meaningful
Revisado: 01-04-25
We all have our battles, some so severe and dizzying it's hard to believe they're happening. Special forces operators often talk like they're the ones who have the corner on the suffering market. They have intense experience of a certain kind, and limited exposure to normal battles of life, which they often fail in. By the end of this book, I was finally satisfied that the author is clear about all this. He got there.
My wife would never read this book, whereas I identify with mean and vicious struggling...and loss...and the need for warriors on and off the military battlefield. Nice work, Eddie. Thanks for being transparent. whew! What pain.

As the title suggests, Influential Internal Communication proves just how influential internal communications (IC) is, and the measurable impact it has on an organization's growth. For many organizations, IC often slips down the list of priorities when there are high pressure, high stakes business situations to cope with.

So helpful
Revisado: 01-24-23
I have done well in strategic communications and I was looking for help in adapting to the internal communications of the corporate world. Jenni hit the nail on the head. I know what to do now, and I'm ready to practice, practice, practice!
I do want to say that intrinsic and extrinsic motivation are not separated so neatly in real life. In fact, most situations will find them mixed together, often in good ways.
The other thing I want to mention is that the amount of attention given to the book, Start with Why, is unnecessary in my mind. I specialize in certain areas that that book gets wrong. No big deal, though. Jenni has written and read a very valuable work. Thanks, Jenni!

Historia
America is in crisis, from the university to the workplace. Toxic ideas first spread by higher education have undermined humanistic values, fueled intolerance, and widened divisions in our larger culture. The Diversity Delusion argues that the root of this problem is the belief in America’s endemic racism and sexism, a belief that has engendered a metastasizing diversity bureaucracy in society and academia.

Reader's tone isn't objective
Revisado: 01-04-23
The author did a solid job, but the reader's tone is mostly negative, partisan and complaining. Very hard to spend hours listening to that tone and try to hear the content. Read the hard-copy version instead.

The authors of The Phoenix Encounter Method don't advise safety. In fact, their method of leadership thinking requires you to imagine burning your business to the ground - throwing yourself into a firestorm change - and turning the upheaval to your organization's advantage. It can then rise, phoenix-like, from the ashes, stronger and more powerful than ever.

While noting the important role of sexual desire, the author makes a major point: humans can thrive without acting out sexual desire. There are many scenarios in which this happens.

Historia
In 1960, Ishmael Reed, then an aspiring young writer, interviewed Malcolm X for a local radio station in Buffalo, and the encounter cost Reed his job and changed his life. In Malcolm and Me, Reed, the author of such classic novels as Mumbo Jumbo and the winner of a MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship, reveals a side of Malcolm X the public has never seen before, and explores how the civil rights firebrand influenced his own views on working and living and speaking out, and left a mark on generations of artists and activists.
