Easy listening

I listen with my young children nearby so I like to find books that are not explicit or directly frightening, but still brain tickling for me. I enjoy this series.

Arthur Penhaligon is not supposed to be a hero. He is, in fact, supposed to die an early death. But then his life is saved by a key shaped like the minute hand of a clock.

I read this series when I was young, and needed something nostalgic to enjoy while painting my kitchen. This did the trick perfectly. I think this is an enjoyable series.

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

I enjoyed marathon listening

I read (or listen) primarily for style instead of story. The book is beautifully written save for some of the author’s own poetry scattered throughout, which really wasn’t my taste. I loved the descriptions of Coastal North Carolina.
