Good, but not all about RFK
Revisado: 12-09-20
While a good book overall, it didn’t come across as being mostly about RFK. The first portion was mostly Joseph, SR. Then the next regarding JFK. Yes RFK was involved, but felt more like “Would Joe, SR do this” or “Would Jack do that.”

Historia
In August 1968 NASA made a bold decision: In just 16 weeks, the United States would launch humankind's first flight to the moon. Only the year before, three astronauts had burned to death in their spacecraft, and since then the Apollo program had suffered one setback after another. Meanwhile, the Russians were winning the space race, the Cold War was getting hotter by the month, and President Kennedy's promise to put a man on the moon by the end of the decade seemed sure to be broken.

Excellent story of Apollo 8
Revisado: 10-14-20
This book is very well in-depth of the aspects of both Gemini 7 and Apollo 8. It’s especially awesome that at the end there is an “in-person” interview of Frank Borman and communication between Houston and the spacecraft during the flight.

Historia
On Winston Churchill’s first day as prime minister, Adolf Hitler invaded Holland and Belgium. Poland and Czechoslovakia had already fallen, and the Dunkirk evacuation was just two weeks away. For the next 12 months, Hitler would wage a relentless bombing campaign, killing 45,000 Britons. It was up to Churchill to hold his country together and persuade President Franklin Roosevelt that Britain was a worthy ally - and willing to fight to the end. In The Splendid and the Vile, Erik Larson shows how Churchill taught the British people "the art of being fearless."

So Good, but So Much Information!
Revisado: 10-06-20
This book was very, very good, as I have come to anticipate from Erik Larson. Every step of Churchill's life during those years were meticulously re-enacted. About the only downside to this book was it was soooo much information to try to process while listening and trying to do other things around the house as well. Perhaps reading the actual book would have been better, but in this case, I'll just have to listen again!

Historia
The sinking of the German battleship Bismarck - a masterpiece of engineering, well-armored with a main artillery of eight 15-inch guns - was one of the most dramatic events of World War II. She left the port of Gotenhafen for her first operation on the night of 18 May 1941, yet was almost immediately discovered by Norwegian resistance and Allied air reconnaissance. British battlecruiser Hood was quickly dispatched from Scapa Flow to intercept the Bismarck, together with new battleship Prince of Wales.

A Great Overall Story!
Revisado: 06-12-20
This was a great book. It gives you the typical information about the life of the Bismarck, but you also get to spend a little time with Lutjens on the Scharnhorst before hand. Along with this, you also get better light on how things proceeded from the British side when trying to find the Bismarck at sea. The KMS Bismarck was a great battleship, that lead a very short life.

Historia
Data is fundamental to the modern world. From economic development, to healthcare, to education and public policy, we rely on numbers to allocate resources and make crucial decisions. But because so much data fails to take into account gender, treating men as the default and women as atypical, bias and discrimination are baked into our systems. And women pay tremendous costs for this bias in time, money, and often with their lives. Celebrated feminist advocate Caroline Criado Perez investigates the shocking root cause of gender inequality and research in Invisible Women.

Great Theory but Overly Repetitive
Revisado: 03-01-20
I got this book after the recommendation from my girlfriend. While it is a good book/theory and brings out some of the struggles women as still facing in the world today, the book itself became repetitive like a broken record. I got halfway thru and couldn't listen anymore as it felt and sounded like a broken record playing. Yes, there are struggles out there. Some have been fixed, some in the process, and others yet to be dealt with at all. It would seem laying out what issues have and are facing women and discussing possible solutions was too good for this book. Instead, it was more "women need this, or this, or this!" While overall correct, that is a poor way to approach the subject. As another reviewer stated, there are tons of statistics here, but no resources to back up those statistics. One cannot, and should not, assume something to be true because they read it somewhere. I wish I could give it a better rating, but I can't. My girlfriend was right when she warned me about the repetitiveness.
