The “performance” was well done. “Story” crazy! And our heroine was nothing short of brilliant given the time period. Definitely worth a listen if this is your genre!

Historia
A cow suicide, a revolving door rescue, and the birth of a bright purple pig are starting to make Kate Saxee wonder if taking a job in her small hometown of Branson Falls, Utah, was such a great idea. As The Branson Tribune editor, Kate covers local news, which, more often than not, involves her accident-prone mom. Nothing truly newsworthy has ever happened in the quiet town, until local teen Chelsea Bradford turns up dead in a Branson Falls lake.

NOT a spicy book!
Revisado: 09-16-24
This really is, and should be, YA. I never once laughed out loud, nor did I think it had an ounce of “spice”. The mystery was decent, but I was expecting so much more from the description and reviews.

Pendergast et al Travel in Time
Revisado: 09-02-24
I will not prattle on, I could. I love Pendergast. Suffice to say, so many of my fav characters (including the mansion and all its secrets) all together, none of them letting me down. Not as heart stopping as some previous adventures, but satisfying. I must admit to having a new found appreciation for Diogenes. If you have enjoyed the Pendergast series so far, do not fear, you are about to embark on another fine journey.

Toooo long
Revisado: 05-14-24
This was a very cool Concept. I was ALL IN! Suffice it to say that it draaaaaaaged after about 14 hours but I was determined to see it through, as I said, the premise was intriguing. I loved the characters, this was just too much and the end? Sorely disappointing.

Magical Historical Mystery Romance
Revisado: 10-08-23
This is a wonderful, magical book. Every once in a while I get a push ad that sounds absolutely tantalizing, this was one of those times and I’m so glad I went for it. A lovely mystery, romance across a century. I won’t give anything away.
If you love magic, mystery, and/or romance, and I expect you love books and bookshops, than will will probably enjoy this story. The readers are wonderful as well!

Tooooo much repetition, weak women
Revisado: 04-10-23
The constant repetition of the events, now and 11 yrs ago, and the women characters incessant nattering made this a chore to get through. Honestly it was a good mystery if the characters weren’t so annoying. That’s the word, annoying. They were all so unsure of themselves, weak. Only one woman really had a backbone.
If only it was told differently it could have been a great story, but I hated most of the characters.

Her unique character, along with her obsessive love of cleaning and proper etiquette, make her an ideal fit for the job.

Returned to a state of perfection
Revisado: 04-03-23
I wasn’t sure I was going to like this one. In the end the author put the pieces together in a perfect state of perfection. The reader was really amazing! She captured Molly perfectly. I was surprised, there were twists and turns that I did not see coming. I will be certain to peruse the bookstore for any other works by this articulate author, she has certainly captured my attention in the most favorable way. 😉 Molly, I wish you a wonderful life!

Very satisfying
Revisado: 06-25-21
I admit I had an issue getting in (to be fair, I had just finished a totally different kind of book that I absolutely loved and had immersed myself in for a few weeks, very long murder mystery) this one, had to cleanse my palette and start again. Once in, again I was immersed and totally enjoyed the experience. So much so that I didn’t want this book to end!
I read a lot and this story is different. The premise is wonderful, the nuances are lovely and so well crafted. Such a tremendous journey through time.
I don’t want to talk about the actual story, I don’t want to ruin it with any spoilers. Don’t hesitate to give this one a go!
If you are thinking audiobook, the reader is great! I was in the book traveling with Addie everywhere. Do it!
I am off to try another book by V. E. Schwab

Can’t wait for the next one!
Revisado: 03-26-21
Soooo many leads, soooo many clues left behind, but which lead? Who really done it? She got me! I missed it.
Part way thru I knew I was going to be sad when the book was done, and I was right. JK Rowling AKA Robert Galbraith creates characters so real you like them, want to be part of THEIR lives! She did it with Harry Potter and his world and now she has done it with Strike & Robin.
The reader, Robert Glenister is AMAZING! Right up there with Jim Dale!
(I may have to listen to every minute of this one again, all what was it 🤔31 almost 32 hours? )
Personally, I can’t wait for the next one!
