No one but me knew why I was actually in the California desert that day. Nestled deep within the desolate, rocky area was a recording studio. When a door suddenly opened, a man mistook me for someone he was supposed to be interviewing for a job. The next thing I knew, I was whisked inside. The position? An assistant on the upcoming tour for one of America’s most famous rock bands. Pretty exciting opportunity for a twenty-two-year-old, just out of college. Not surprisingly, I bombed the interview.

Well dang! 🤩
Revisado: 01-24-25
As usual, Ms. Ward did it again! She got me! That was a great story! I was trying to figure out the big secret and then when it was revealed, I was like, well, how do I feel about this!? And I realized…I’m ok with it! 😉 The way she developed Tristan and Emily over the story was perfect. I liked how each of them told secrets and felt comfortable with each other. The letter Emily wrote to Tristan was smart (couldn’t think of another word that didn’t sound like ‘self sacrificing’, because I dont believe she was doing that!) Honestly, I kept forgetting about the age gap until one of them brought it up so it didn’t play a big role in the book, for me. It was more prevalent near the end of the book than the beginning and middle.
It was definitely a ‘pull on your heartstrings’ kind of book. But I won’t spoil anything.
The narrators…obviously were perfect! 🤩

Historia
Ever since her younger sister's engagement was announced, Harper Williams has been dreading the wedding. What should be a joyous, sun-drenched affair is sure to be filled with plenty of awkward moments, thanks to Harper's strained relationship with her only sibling. Awkwardness enhanced by the wedding's location—a lake in Maine, swimming with painful memories of their late father. Running into Drew Halifax—her childhood crush, who grew up to be the golden boy of hockey—is a surprise. Not nearly as shocking as his offer to be her plus-one is, though.

There were parts of this that made me giggle like a school girl with the phone calls between our main characters. And then other times I wanted to knock them silly for not just saying what was on their dang minds!!!! lol…books, am I right!? Give them a chance…check it out!
The narrators…this was my first time listening to Gail and she did amazing! Will definitely look out for more books narrated by her. I have listened to Alex before so I was aware of the way he narrates, it can be a little different so I understand how some might not like it. It didn’t take away from the story for me.

Historia
It's hard to forget your past when you're staring at it. That's the conclusion Emma Watkins arrives at when she returns to Hayden, Maine—population 2,253; now 2,254—for the first time in nine years. When she sees him for the first time in nine years. When that word leaves his mouth. Buttercup. A pretty nickname in an ugly tone. A term of endearment time twisted into an insult. A taunt that nothing has been forgiven—or forgotten. She's back to sever ties. Break promises. Keep secrets. All easier said than done. The memories she left behind aren't all bad . . . more like mostly good.

Small town, second chance, slow burn! 🥰
Revisado: 01-20-25
Listen, we all make rash decisions/mistakes as teenagers and to be held accountable for said actions is, well, what makes a slow-burn, small town, second-chance romance. I enjoyed the plot (although the “why” did seem a little over the top) and honestly I enjoyed the slow burn for this story. Sometimes it’s too slow but it fit in this book.
The narrators did an excellent job! Highly recommend!

Historia
Weston Belmont. The man is a shameless flirt. He oozes confidence and masculinity in a way that’s downright distracting. And in bed? He’s addictive. Everything with him is wild and impulsive and I’m desperate to regain some control. But no one has supported me like West does. And no one has ever made me feel as loved as he does either. So, while my brain says settling down with a small-town horse trainer is impossible… my heart says I’m right where I belong.

Fancy Face, Cherry, and hit songs…
Revisado: 09-06-24
Here’s the thing, if you watched Days of Our Lives anytime from the 80s on you know the name Fancy Face. So once West settled on that nickname it just made me smile. Cherry the bird was hilarious…and had great character development (🤭). I was pleasantly surprised by 2 songs played. I will be honest, I have listened to other books where this has been done and it was awkward, here it was played perfectly in my opinion. I’m sorry I don’t remember the singers name but she sounded great…very much like Savannah which made it believable that she was the singer in the story. Great casting. Both narrators did an amazing job…as usual!

Narrators are amazing!
Revisado: 09-02-24
I will start with the narrators. Ash and Alyssa did an amazing job, just as they did in book 1. They brought each character to life and did a terrific job with the accents.
This book is a MMF or heck maybe a MFM I can’t remember which was first. But I will say there are definitely more MM scenes, and I’m not necessarily complaining because they were hot, I just usually like my reverse harems where they are all involved (and maybe a MM scene on the side!). Also, this one Piper (F) is an Alpha and Owen is the Omega (M) which made the whole dynamic seem a little off to me. This is the first one I’ve read like this so maybe it was just me. Piper seemed to need to be “carried” by the other Alpha a little too much in my opinion. Alexie (sp?) was amazing an Alpha! I loved him!
The book was hot, give it a try! You don’t need to read book 1 but it’s great…you should!

Historia
I met West Haven when I was eight years old. He taught me to play poker when I was nine, and we made paper airplanes together when I was eleven. He kissed me when I was sixteen. He was the best part about my family’s summer vacations to Montana. He was the boy who stole my heart. I was twenty-three when life ripped us apart. Years later, I’m breaking my vow and returning to the ranch, not as a guest but its new owner. West might want me gone, but even he has to admit the only way to save his family’s legacy is with my help.

Hit me in the feels…wasn’t expecting that! 🥰
Revisado: 08-12-24
First of all, this isn’t my first Devney Perry book, so I kinda knew what to expect, and this one hit a home run with me. What I wasn’t expecting was the emotional meltdown I had near the end. But that could be because of my personal issues…🤦🏼♀️!
Anyhoo, the plot of this one is sweet with a little over the top money being tossed around. But it’s fiction right, 😉, someone has to be rich! Going back and forth between past and present to tell the story sometimes gets lost in translation but this time it works. Can’t wait for book 2 in this series!
Connor and Samantha did a terrific job bringing West and Indya to life.

Absolutely ‘Tapped’ by this series…🥰
Revisado: 07-20-24
Loving this series! Book 2 is just as great as book 1, Possession! I always read my series in order, you don’t have to (obviously) but you will be spoiled with plot in book 1.
Tapped, book 2, is Micah and Evie’s story. You meet Micah in Book 1 so I was excited this was his meet-cute! Read the book for the adventure. You can’t go wrong with Brynne Asher. I love that these are people who have seen the Earth go around Sun a few more times. Don’t get me wrong, I read all types of ages but I love reading closer to my age books.
Jason and Rose did an amazing job!!

I’m nothing but a payment, bartered to the most powerful cartel in the northern hemisphere and forced to marry a man I do not know. My father sold me to save his own skin. He might as well have ushered me to the gates of hell. The Marino family is sadistic. If rumors are true, they’ll own me, use me, control me, and strip me of every freedom I’ve taken for granted. I’ll be a shiny new toy in a dark and deadly underworld.

Long before the world bowed down to the band Whispered Words, they shattered me to pieces when they walked away. Now, after five years apart, they're back to fix what they broke. If I let them... Before our fall, Callum, Rad, Kieran, and Asher were mine. My everything. My rock stars. My future. Until they weren't. All it took was one night. One massive lie. One false accusation. And they were gone. Leaving me with a broken heart, a restraining order, and a baby on the way.

Entirely too much inner dialogue…
Revisado: 04-17-24
Listen, I love a good ‘why choose’, which is what brought me to these books, but the length of each one of these books just about did me in. Yes, I knew about the lengths before I used my credits but I’m a sucker and did it anyway. I can honestly say, the story line/plot is good, BUT, and I hate using that because I’m not discounting what I just said, the inner dialogue of each character was almost redundant. I understand needing each POV but we really don’t need each scenes. Just a blurb…maybe. It was exhausting, to where I was hitting the “30” a lot. They would talk about the past so much, even going back into dream like sequences to where we have to have a whole conversation again! Ugh. This is why the 1st book is 19 hrs long & the 2nd one is 23 hours long. I felt like there was just so much repetitive inner dialogue…that’s my point, I guess.
Like I said before the plot is interesting, if you can get past all the inner dialogue.
Avery Crais did a pretty good job with her narration. Her voices were well rounded. Lance Greenfield, well, I wasn’t as impressed with all his voices. But to each their own.

I tore out of rehab to win my husband back. It’ll work, too. He just needs to see that I’m clean, that I’m on my feet again. Until that happens, though, I’ve only got one guy in my corner—Beck, my husband’s best friend, who takes me in against his will and keeps me sane. Living with Beck is easier than I expected. And fun. Except I’ve got a long history of wanting things I’m not supposed to want.

Kate, the villain of her own story!
Revisado: 01-28-24
Ok, here’s the problem I had with this book. I hated Kate, our FMC! Obviously, Beck and Kate get their HEA, but the entire book Elizabeth is really doing a great job of making her the villain. I’m all for character development but geesh, poor Beck! I wasn’t feeling sorry for Kate AT ALL! She was making some pretty bad decisions, all the way around her life, and I was getting really mad at her.
Anyway, I finished it because I wanted to see, of course, how everyone just glosses over her mistakes…and I spent a credit! 🤷🏼♀️
The narrators were amazing!! They saved this book The duet-style is my favorite! 🤩
