Historia
When summer comes around, it's off to the beach for Rosalind...and off to Maine with Aunt Claire for the rest of the Penderwick girls, as well as their old friend, Jeffrey. That leaves Skye as OAP (oldest available Penderwick)—a terrifying notion for all, but for Skye especially. Things look good as they settle into their cozy cottage, with a rocky shore, enthusiastic seagulls, a just-right corner store, and a charming next-door neighbor. But can Skye hold it together long enough to figure out Rosalind's directions about not letting Batty explode?

Historia
With the story of her conversion as a backdrop, Rosaria Butterfield invites us into her home to show us how God can use “radical, ordinary hospitality” to bring the Gospel to our lost friends and neighbors. Such hospitality sees our homes as not our own but as God’s tools for the furtherance of his kingdom as we welcome those who look, think, believe, and act differently from us into our everyday, sometimes messy lives - helping them see what true Christian faith really looks like.

The book I’m giving for Christmas
Revisado: 12-19-22
Such a good and thought provoking book on what genuine hospitality truly is. A hospitality that puts Christ at the center.

Historia
After an accident left him temporarily blind, Drew Carter didn't just regain his sight. He now sees what others can't imagine - an entire spiritual realm of mighty beings at war. Forget the gift, Drew just wants his life back. Part of that involves Sydney Carlyle, a woman he is inexplicably drawn to. When he's offered the chance to become a CIA agent, it seems the way to redeem his past. The only problem - his visions of the supernatural realm are increasing in frequency.

Well Done!
Revisado: 07-08-21
Written with excellent language and enthralling pacing, Chuck Black definitely created a masterpiece in message and in technical structure. This book forever changed my outlook on prayer and the Spiritual realm. Listening to the series got me through a tough sickness, and I can't wait to re-read again and again. (I must also note how talented the readers and musical director are. ) Well done!! I highly reccomend this series to anyone looking for a fast-paced si-fi with a powerful underlying message.

Historia
Fifth grade was the worst year of Marc's life. He stunk at gym class, math was too hard for him, the school lunch was horrible, and his class field trip was ruined because he couldn't swim. But what was the most awful thing about fifth grade? Kenny Williamson, the class bully, who called himself the "King of the Jungle". When Marc's mother tells him that his uncle Jake is coming to stay for the whole summer, Marc can't wait. Uncle Jake is a for-real super-cool Navy SEAL. And Uncle Jake has a plan.

This is the book boys need
Revisado: 08-11-18
Such an encouraging book for anyone but especially any young boy facing manhood right around the corner.
It made me as mom want to start doing push ups and memorizing the presidents.
This book gives a really good picture of how men are supposed to grow up, with excellent role models who use their strength to protect the weak and lift others up.

Sometimes, we fall in love on mission trips even though we know we’ll break up when we get back. Sometimes, you think, “I wish I had a T-shirt that said ‘I direct deposit my tithe’ so people wouldn’t judge me.” Sometimes, the stuff that comes with faith is funny. This is that stuff. Jonathan Acuff’s Stuff Christians Like is your field guide to all things Christian. You’ll learn the culinary magic of the crock-pot. Think you’ve got a Metro worship leader? Use Acuff’s checklist. Want to avoid a prayer handholding faux pas? Acuff has you covered.

Laughed out loud.
Revisado: 05-08-15
What kind of sense if humor must I have if I had already slightly observed many of these observations. Jon just said them in a slightly kinder and with a more extensive vocabulary than I could have ever. Just a truly enjoyable book that lets me chuckle at myself. Yup I'm the Christian he's writing about and I'm glad for the giggle.
