Historia
The first mass dungeon break in history grows nearer. Nick and his growing guild are training against time to be ready to stop this “Red Death” before it ever happens, but no one outside Nick’s closest circle knows this true purpose behind their intense tactical team-combat exercises. The secret weighs heavily on Nick as he considers revealing the truth of his regression to his found family, the Walters, and his other allies, hoping they will believe him and still support him when he needs them most.

Narration is well done. Good character voices. I've gone though 1-4 and want #5. My favourite of the last couple years.

As humanity is taking its final breath, facing extinction from a myriad of monsters, the last three people on earth are creating a final chance for the hero to go back in time and stop the apocalypse. However, before the hero can enter the chronomancer portal to the past, she and the portal's creator are both killed, leaving only the weak assistant to carry on their dream of saving the world. They nailed it
Revisado: 08-19-24
The most I've enjoyed a book in the genre in years. The narration was top notch. A few comparables are LM Kerr's Reborn Apocalypse and Drew Hayes Superpowereds. The story caught me from the very beginning and stayed interesting throughout. The cast of characters were interesting and the narrators brought them to life. I liked that the LitRPG stats and skills were simple enough, low key and didn't overpower the story. Hat's off to Charles Dean and Ramon Mejia for creating something great.

Historia
Living in a virtual game world sounds like the ultimate dream. Plenty of action, intrigue, and guess who gets to be the big hero? But what happens when that digital reality gets flipped on its head? Bad guys are after your sweet loot, your fancy title is loaded with unrealistic expectations, and achieving such a high level comes with a big fat target on your back. Something has to give, so when a new crusader faction rolls into town, Talon senses an opportunity.

Well written, well narrated
Revisado: 01-24-23
Ok, I really enjoy Justin Thomas James narrations. His voice is great! The story has a lot of interesting moving parts. It has odd characters, exciting fight scenes and plenty of conflict to keep things moving.

Historia
Fred did something bad. He didn’t intend to do it, but the destruction of a dungeon core - accident or otherwise - will likely result in horrific consequences for anyone connected with the crime. And not for just the perpetrators; everyone around them will suffer vengeful retribution from the nearby cores for the unthinkable act. Knowing that his mistake will end up endangering his new friends, the townspeople of Gatecross, and even his Guild, Core Power, Fred decides to do whatever he can to protect them.

I love the dungeon core chatter
Revisado: 01-19-23
Good narration. Story wise, I enjoyed the conversations between dungeon cores. I think the author did a fine job with Fred as a non human character and the fun that ensues because of lack of knowledge about basic human social things. Pretty much any series put out by Jonathan Brooks makes for good reading (and listening). The premise of this series is pretty unique.

Revisado: 09-30-22
One of the early translated Russian LitRPG titles. It's a bit like a machine itself. I didn't connect with the story on an emotional level but it was mentally engaging. Solid like a well maintained machine. I enjoyed listening to it again for my 3rd time.

Historia
A strange body that refuses to obey you; a weird game you can't quit until your contract expires; a world teeming with powerful and very real enemies. The game in which your reputation and faction relationship are the only things that matter. These are the conditions of the agreement Ruslan signs without reading. The only thing he remembers is that he's been contracted to command a space fleet in a brand-new game he knows nothing about. Objective: to survive for six months.

Revisado: 09-27-22
Listening again years later, I'm very impressed by both the author and narrator. I'm pretty sure that the story is based around the space combat game Eve online and the combat described in the story matches what I saw in game. Great intrigue, politics, and most of all the space battles. All the cool stuff minus the bookkeeping. The various reputation messages throughout the story keep the game feel going and actually add to the story. Narration is clear and easy to listen to.

Historia
Olgerd and his tribal NPC gang have finally discovered the Forbidden City. Problem is, they haven't found what they were looking for. The ancient maps are hopelessly out of date, and the Ennan capital city is lying in ruins. In the meantime, their enemies are closing in. Noctean hordes are arriving from the Silver Mountain Valley; the Dark army has already crossed the Back Stream, and the forces of Light have already entered the Icy Woods. The magic protection sphere which Olgerd received from the city's invisible guardians is about to expire....

Wonderful!
Revisado: 06-20-22
It's been a while since my last listen. The story is so well done and finishing it is like waking up from a great dream. I like the hero. He does his best for his family and the clan of NPCs in the game. Always the underdog and he keeps going no matter what. The narration is well done (even some annoying voices). The narrator brings emotion and life to the story. An excellent series and great audiobooks.

Historia
Mirror World is stirring, about to embrace the new global changes of its map. Everyone is getting ready to colonize No-Man's Lands. The strongest clans send their best fighters on recon missions, impatient to make stakes for the juiciest locations. Market prices have taken to the sky like flocks of scared pigeons. New alliances are struck while mercenaries upgrade their armor and grind edges on their swords. Their time is looming. A war is coming to Mirror World.

The ads enthused, "The virtual lands of Mirror World await you! Live out your most secret dreams in our world of Sword and Sorcery! Become a Great Wizard or a Famous Warrior! Build your own castle, tame a dragon, conquer a kingdom! All those desperate, lonely, and insecure - Mirror World offers you a chance!" But Oleg isn't meant to become a great wizard or a famous warrior. He'll never have a castle of his own. Nor will he ever tame a dragon. And he's definitely not the type to conquer a kingdom, however virtual it may be.

My first LitRPG audiobook
Revisado: 06-16-22
I'm listening for my 4th? time. Although the narration sounds a bit nasal to me I like the emphasis and emotion the narrator brings Oleg and other characters to life. The details in the writing give me a much more rich experience than I often have reading or listening. I like that the motivation in the story is a family man's quest to save his daughter. Love driven story beats greed or fame any day. Having a character be a little OP and battling forces much larger than himself gives that underdog feeling. Go Oleg! Your story excites me years after my first read and listen. I even bought the russian language audiobook (I know almost zip about russian). It was fun as I knrw where I was at even if I didn't know the words. I think the journey in Mirrorworld is well worth the money and time.

Being a necromancer is kinda cool until you wake up half dead in a dumpster. Cisco Suarez is into something bad. Wanted by police, drenched in the stink of dark magic, and nether creatures coming out of the woodwork. Is resurrection overrated or what? This box set contains the first three Black Magic Outlaw novels ( Dead Man, Shadow Play, and Heart Strings) all at one special omnibus price.

Great story, great narration
Revisado: 06-04-22
I read the books several years ago. Listening to the compilation audiobook, I'm glad that it doesn't feel very out of date. I'd hate to see a necromancer discarded over being past his sell by date. A lot of great action magic and mayhem. The obvious comparable is the Dresden files. Black magic outlaw stacks up well. The narration is good, the character voices fit. I haven't heard a Neil Hellagers narration that I didn't like. It's solid urban fantasy fare like a good bowl of chili or stew with a brew for your mind.
